You’ll feel like hibernating too when you step into this mountain-modern cabin. First, turn on the gas fireplace and take a seat on your sofa, which offers a lovely view through floor-to-ceiling windows of your wraparound deck and the trees beyond. The adjacent, open-plan kitchen and dining area mean the chef of the group won’t feel left out while preparing meals. There’s a suite of gleaming stainless steel appliances, and a lovely natural-edge dining table, which doubles as prep space. When it’s time to eat, you can enjoy the same lovely view from the table. A washer/dryer and free WiFi round out this home’s interior perks.
Once you’ve settled in, it’s time to explore your surroundings. In the summer, nearby Donner Lake and hiking trails beckon, and in the winter, you’re surrounded by ski slopes. Truckee and Tahoe are a short drive away, and when it’s time to return, you can go into full hibernation mode and get cozy.
