The San Lorenzo is a charming and freshly restored apartment with two balconies overlooking the Santa Giustina Canal located in the heart of Castello district.
It is part of an historic building that has been completely restored with the latest techniques and technologies. The shared entrance hall is equipped with a brand-new elevator, the communal parts are clean, bright and quiet.
In the surroundings there are lots of artisan and antique ateliers, local food shops and delicious osterie (traditional restaurants) and bacari (traditional bars). Some of the cultural landmarks that can be found in the Castello District, beside Arsenale and Biennale gardens, include Basilica Santi Giovanni e Paolo, Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, Chiesa dei Greci, Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Chiesa di San Zaccaria and many others. This area is the most integrally authentic part of Venice historical centre.
The apartment has been furnished with a decidedly contemporary style, while fittings and lighting enhance by contrast the value of its historical features. The San Lorenzo is a small exclusive home with high wooden beamed ceilings, Terrazzo Veneziano flooring, tall arched windows and designer furniture. The steel kitchen is a jewel of technology and design, with all basic amenities and perfectly fitting in the living room environment.
The apartment is thought to host couples, but the sofa-bed is truly comfortable, with real mattress and a functional pull-out mechanism. Also, the bathroom is in line with the exclusivity of this home, with a large shower cabin and marble top. Amenities of the apartment includes air-conditioning, Wi-Fi internet connection, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, TV with DVD player, etc.
The main feature of the apartment is definitively the pleasant canal view, particularly enjoyable from the balconies that allow to admire the outlook at its best. Last but not least, the rental fee is very attractive for this level of accommodation, possibly because the location is less central than other more commercial apartments.
We strongly suggest this apartment to demanding travellers who keep an eye on the budget and prefer the less touristy areas.

About the area
Venice, Italy, is a city that enchants its visitors with its distinctive blend of history, artistry, and romance. The city is uniquely constructed on over 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Instead of roads and cars, Venice is characterized by its waterways and gondolas, offering a truly unique urban experience.
St. Mark's Square stands as one of the city's most iconic landmarks. It is home to St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace. The basilica boasts stunning Byzantine mosaics while the palace showcases Gothic architecture and grand rooms adorned with art - both are symbols of Venice's rich historical heritage.
The Grand Canal is another must-visit attraction in Venice. A gondola ride along this major waterway provides breathtaking views of beautiful palaces and historic buildings lining its banks. For those passionate about art, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection offers an impressive collection of modern art from renowned artists like Picasso and Pollock.
Venice takes pride in its glassmaking industry located on the island of Murano where visitors can witness artisans crafting intricate glass pieces using age-old techniques.
The city also hosts several globally recognized events such as the Venice Biennale art exhibition and the Venice Film Festival which draw artists and celebrities worldwide.
For gastronomes, Venetian cuisine offers fresh seafood from the lagoon and traditional dishes like risotto nero (black risotto) made with cuttlefish ink.
In summary, Venice presents an irresistible mix of history, culture, artistic talent, gastronomy, and romance that makes it an ideal destination for any traveler.
