The living space is dressed in modern decor and lots of windows that provide the home with plenty of natural light and views. You’ll have a work desk and chair available, and the highspeed WiFi will make it easy for remote workers and students to perform some online research for those lastminute projects. You’ll also find a furnished back deck with a gas grill and a table and chairs for al fresco dining while looking out over the 12acre preserve. The firepit and provided firewood will keep you entertained on those cool Maine evenings, especially when you pull a good Stephen King novel from the extensive private library. WHATS NEARBY Check out the shores of Salt Marsh Cove, accessible via Colby Wildlife Preserve by taking a short hike down to the Damariscotta River. From here, you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon of kayaking or some wildlife watching from one of our provided chairs perched upon a rocky and secluded beach. The Damariscotta River is a tidal river, so its flow and level are influenced by tides from the Atlantic Ocean, not far away. At low tide, you can even find fresh wild oysters to enjoy right from the grill. You’ll also be close to some of the best dining and outdoor activities Maine has to offer. Take advantage of the local lobster shacks, breweries, oyster bars, and terrific shopping, and don’t forget to head out for some great hikes and ocean tours while you’re here. Just seven miles away, the charming towns of Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, and Wiscasset each offer unique cultural experiences, activities, and amazing food.
