Immersed in the greenery of a lemon grove, amongst the scent of lemons and the gardens of Ispica, Il Giardino dei Limoni enjoys a strategic position not far from the best destinations in eastern Sicily, such as the Baroque towns of Ragusa, Noto and Syracuse, the beach of Carratois, located at the extreme corner of Sicily where the two seas meet, or the famous Vendicari Nature Reserve with the beach of Calamosche, awarded as one of the most beautiful in Italy. The surrounding land of four hectares is planted with lemon groves and pervades the air with the scents of orange blossom and lemon. The villa is surrounded by a garden with lawn, mature trees and aromatic herbs. Here you can relax sunbathing by the pool, playing ping-pong or grilling on the large brick barbecue. Alternatively, you can opt for the newly-built spa with large windows overlooking the lemon groves. The complex, consisting of the main villa and an annex, in rustic Sicilian style and with a variety of local artefacts, offers a simple and welcoming interior. The dining and living area is an intimate space where you can gather around the table, the kitchen reflects the old Sicilian style with its majolica tiles and beautiful stone worktop. The structure, already well protected from the summer heat, enjoys air conditioning in both the living room and the bedrooms. Il Giardino dei Limoni is excellently located for combining culture, sea and gastronomic tours. Just 6 km away are some of the most beautiful Sicilian beaches such as Santa Maria del Focallo, a popular destination for kitesurfers with delicious fish restaurants and kiosks where you can enjoy an aperitif at sunset.
Interior:
The house has just one floor. Entering, you are immediately greeted by the living area which includes the dining table and the sitting area with sofa in front of the working fireplace. The adjoining kitchen is in typical Sicilian brickwork with, to the side, a pantry with the dishwasher. The sleeping area, separated from the living room by a large stone arch and a corridor reached up two steps, consists of two double bedrooms, one of which with ensuite bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom with two beds and a further bathroom with shower. The annex, with access from the outside, is composed of a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower in which the washing machine is also located. The spa, with separate entrance, consists of a heated 4-seater whirlpool tub, a 2-seater Finnish sauna, an emotional shower and a relaxation area with chaise longues. Air conditioning only in the bedrooms.
Park:
The four-hectare land surrounding the house is planted with lemon trees. The garden around the house consists of a lawn with old trees, flowering bushes and aromatic herbs which frame the swimming pool. The large furnished portico includes the kitchen area with a brick barbecue, a wood oven, a sink and comfortable worktops. Under the shade of the canopy is also a large table for outdoor dining and a ping-pong table. Next to the main entrance, and with external access, is a lovely spa with large windows overlooking the lush garden. It is possible to access the spa from 10 am to 9 pm for 3 consecutive hours with a 24 hour-notice at an extra cost.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens’ grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The rectangular swimming pool, measuring 10 x 5 m with a constant depth of 1.40 m, with chlorine purification and a ladder for access, is located in the central part of the garden 10 m from the portico. The solarium area, partly paved and partly lawn, is equipped with sunbeds, a hot and cold-water outdoor shower and internal and external lighting so that it can also be used in the evening hours. The pool is available from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
