Located on the Southern Crete coast, an untouched area with picturesque scenery, where you will find a small selection of tavernas scattered along the coastline flanked by magnificent sandy beaches. The traditional villages of the area, the long history of the local venetian castle, the serenity and the tranquil atmosphere is the idyllic setting of this villa.
This is a modern, brand new, beachfront, 3 bedroom villa with private infinity pool, overlooking the unique Libyan sea, literally a few steps away from the sandy isolated beach of Laki. It is very close to 3 taverns, while homemade cooking based on traditional recipes and local fresh products, can be prepared, on demand, by the hospitable owners.
The villa with high modern and luxury standards is all in one level (110 square meters). It consists of a big bright and airy lounge with a comfortable sofa (which can open as an additional bed if required), with TV set, dvd player and WiFi coverage. Next is the modern open plan kitchen with ceramic top, oven, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and all useful utensils.
Three nicely decorated bedrooms, one of them with an en-suite shower/wc and a family bathroom with shower/wc and 2 sinks, completes the comfortable layout of the villa. The master bedroom has a big double bed with views to the sea and direct access to the pool and the veranda. The second has 2 single beds and the third a double bed. All bedrooms have air-condition units.
The sitting room leads onto the pool with a sliding door. The private infinity pool is 27 square meters in size. A covered terrace which is next to the pool is the ideal place to enjoy your lunch or dinner with extensive sea views!
This villa is the perfect choice for a quiet beach focused family holiday or for Honeymooners who wish to enjoy a very romantic and peaceful setting. The privacy and exclusiveness of the setting and it’s surroundings is priceless.
For bigger groups, families or parties, the two more sister villas are available on the same grounds.
The village of Fragokastello is just 5 km away where more amenities can be found including supermarkets, restaurants, ATM, etc and the traditional small village of Skaloti some 2 km away where a mini market can be found.
The Fragokastello castle itself is a living history and a window to a vivid and revolutionary past! The remains of the castle is not very different from the way it looked when it was first built in 1371. Above the main entrance there is a sculptured slate with the Lion of Saint Mark and two Venetian feudal coat of arms.
The view to the impressive White Mountains is breathtaking and inviting for daily excursions. The European Hiking Footpath (E4) passes through Fragokastello. It passes through the beautiful gorge of Imbros and crosses the gorge of Kalikratis, which both are easy to visit and hike.
The seawater of the area is crystal clear, shallow and warm and it is a marvelous combination with the sand dunes that are formed and an opportunity for many hours of play and leisure.
According to the local legend, every year, on the anniversary of the battle of Fragokastello (4-6 June), at dawn, you can see a long procession of visions. Figures with their weapons, walkers and riders, marching from the church of Saint Charalambos towards the fort. The phenomenon is observed when the sea is calm and there is moisture in the atmosphere and it lasts about 10 minutes. The figures reach the sea and disappear into it, with the first rays of the sun. They are called Drosoulites.
