Pikes Peak Retreat
Nestled away in a beautiful aspen grove on the back side of Pike’s Peak, this log home is an ideal retreat for families and groups looking to get away. Multiple skylights flood the space with natural light, while enticing mountain and forest views surround the area. Enjoy the fresh air out on the furnished decks or cook s’mores out at the firepit. If things are a little chilly out, feel free to cuddle around the living room’s wood-burning fireplace. The open kitchen lies nearby, complete with all the full-size appliances you need (and a bonus prep island that doubles as a breakfast bar) to cook delicious meals together. The upstairs loft features cozy spots and a balcony for long nights of conversation. The loft area has been recently updated with a new oversized sectional with built-in phone charging stations, a mounted big screen TV, and a mounted soundbar for streaming videos and music.
Two of the bedrooms in this home lie on the main floor, just down the hallway past the kitchen. Straight ahead, the first bedroom features a private balcony and special stained-glass window. To the left, the charming second bedroom features a private entrance to the main furnished deck on this floor, as well as log-cabin-style walls framing a unique octagonal window. The hallway bathroom (featuring a standalone shower, soaking tub, and beautiful tile work throughout) can serve the needs of these guests. When guests head upstairs to the top floor, they will find another great conversation area, can watch a movie, and can also recline, or enjoy a good night’s sleep on the trundle bed. The loft has access to its own private balcony as well for stargazing. The third bedroom located next to the loft features a bunk bed and a private balcony with forest views. The nearby full bathroom features a shower/tub combination, a built-in bench, a skylight, and two tiled counter stations. When guests go down the stairs from the main floor (check the hidden tilework on the stairs!), they’ll find bunks all set up for guests who want to relax in the game area, as well as a full bathroom with a standalone shower to serve guest needs. It also features a wet bar and full-size refrigerator, and a game table perfect for playing cards or board games.
