The Mathis House
Built in 1876, the Mathis House provides a unique, historically-influenced retreat for visitors to Rockport. High-ceilinged rooms let in natural light throughout the home, reflecting gorgeous patterned wallpaper and carefully curated furniture. The living room is curated to be a modern, relaxing space complete with a wood fireplace, desk workspaces, and plenty of books for guests to enjoy. The full kitchen is arranged with modern conveniences, including a dishwasher and eat-in dining area. Central air conditioning will keep everyone staying inside at ease, and the private pool is a great way to cool off after a fun hot-weather hike. This home is all one floor and features an enclosed backyard, perfect for history buffs visiting with their families.
Inside the home, guests will find the first bedroom directly to the right upon coming through the front door. This lovely room features a four-poster bed and four full-length windows that provide a view of the front yard. Across the hall, the second bedroom provides extra seating, a crib for younger guests, and an elegant vanity with a seat. Proceeding to the dining room, guests need only turn right to find the third bedroom. This room offers a modern-style bed, trendy vertical wallpaper, and an en suite bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Across the hall in the fourth bedroom, modern-style beds accompany a uniquely tiled en suite bathroom.
