Saratoga Waterview Escape
Enjoy panoramic views of Saratoga Passage and Camano Island across the water from the back deck, the grassy lawn, and almost every room of this beautiful, oceanfront cottage on the shores of Whidbey Island. Built on a high bluff in 1947 and gorgeously updated since, this single-level home features both modern and classic elements of design, including beamed ceilings, exposed brick, and large picture windows that run the length of the house.
Whether you choose to spend your days walking on the beach (accessible down the road) or perusing the charming shops of downtown Langley, you’ll have ample space for relaxation when you return home. There’s an oceanfront living room where you can curl up to watch for orca pods and the occasional grey whale; an adjacent nook with a selection of puzzles, books, and games to enjoy; and a sun room where you can have one eye on the flatscreen TV and the other on the bald eagles soaring over the backyard. The kitchen is open and breezy, offering stainless steel appliances, subway tile backsplash, a spacious island with bar seating, and a dining table for six - all with a commanding view of the water.
Just beyond the sliding glass doors are the inviting deck and backyard below, where you can sip your coffee at sunrise or enjoy a glass of wine at sunset, since both are visible from this property. Grill in the ocean air and then sit down for an al fresco meal. Additional amenities include a large main bedroom suite with a private bathroom and a desk workspace, free WiFi, a washer/dryer, and both a booster seat and a Pack ’N Play for the little ones.
This waterfront home is located in the tranquil community of Baby Island Heights on the east side of Whidbey Island, on a high bluff with approximately 75 feet of frontage. It’s an area of the island - seven miles northwest of downtown Langley - known for its black-tailed deer population. To access the private beach, you need only walk up the road and down the hill to the right; once you’re there, you’ll likely catch a glimpse of the harbor seals that are known to frequent the area. Please keep your distance from the beautiful wildlife both on and off the beach, admiring the seal, deer, and eagle population from afar.
