A cherished family village home has been transformed into a smart and comfortable holiday Villa, within walking distance of the beach, tavernas and public transport. The Villa now boasts a smart pool terrace, made private by smart wood fencing and furnished for soaking up the sun and for dining under the pergola. The living space is modern and spacious with floor to ceiling patio doors, to optimize the sea views and opening onto the pool terrace.
The windows of all three bedrooms open onto an orange grove at the rear of the Villa and a narrow village street passes by the front. This is a superb family Villa if you want to experience real Crete, but prefer to leave your driving licence at home. A wonderful choice if you are looking for a lovely pool and a simple yet comfortable home in a real Cretan village with a rural atmosphere.
Location
It’s just a short stroll from Villa located on the edge of the houses and old buildings which make up the village of Kamisiana, to a choice of tavernas and less than a kilometer to a long stretch of mixed pebble and sand beach. Even in the height of summer the beach remains relatively quiet but if you are looking for a little more action, then a short drive or bus ride (the bus service runs regularly along the main coast road), will bring you to a number of resorts. Kolymbari, just a 5 mins bus ride, is known for its great seafood tavernas overlooking the little fishing harbour and Tavronitis, in the other direction, also has a good choice of shops and tavernas. Both villages have retained a sense of old style mixed with the new, with traditional cafeneons where the locals timelessly ‘put the world to right’ and sip their Greek coffee. The western beaches of Falassarna and Elafonissi are a must see and easily accessible by car from this area as well as Gramvousa island and Balos Bay, which can be visited by boat.
