Starting from GBP £13,083 per night for a minimum of three (3) nights in staffed accommodation, including breakfast, teas & coffees and all soft drinks. The property is only let on a fully exclusive basis as a whole.
HISTORY
The original house came into the hands of the current owner’s forebears in 1450. Since then, the original house until it was burnt down in 1661, followed by the current house which was rebuilt in 1731, have seen a fascinating history interwoven with Parliament and Royalty. The 20th century saw huge improvements to the house and it underwent a comprehensive refurbishment and it now offers luxurious and comfortable accommodation.
DESCRIPTION
The house is a clever mix of old world charm with lovely family portraits & paintings combined with modern day luxury. This is a very comfortable home but despite its size, it remains cosy and welcoming. The grounds are beautifully kept and it has all the facilities that you would expect from a grand home surrounded by a large estate. Fantastically located for London, Heathrow and the south West of England, this is a great base from which to explore this pretty part of the country. Despite being close to a large town, the estate is very private and you feel nicely cocooned once you have entered the front gates! It borders some lovely rolling countryside with pretty villages, excellent pubs and lots of hearty walks.
There are extensive private gardens including a 3 acre walled garden, rose garden and glass houses. A tennis court, heated outdoor swimming pool, croquet lawn, cricket pitch with pavilion and lake. A wine cellar, cinema and billiards room are in the house.

The house is fully staffed and guests will be looked after with the true warmth of good traditional English hospitality. With breakfast included in the price, additional catering will be organised for guests to suit their requirements from good country house food to gourmet, Michelin Star cuisine. Fine wines and other specialist liqueurs can be arranged for special dinners or parties as well as other wines and spirits.
ACTIVITIES
There is a wide range of activities that can be arranged for guests including horse riding, foraging, fly fishing on the River Test, yoga and cookery lessons. There is go karting and ice skating nearby as well as a host of local attractions.
