Nestled in the scenic Appalachian Mountains of Garrett County, Accident is a haven for those seeking a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
One of the town's most notable attractions is the Drane House, the oldest standing structure in Garrett County. This historic home provides a glimpse into the early frontier life and is a testament to the town's rich heritage. History enthusiasts will appreciate the well-preserved architecture and the stories that the walls of this house could tell.
The surrounding area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Deep Creek Lake, Maryland's largest freshwater lake, is just a short drive away and offers a plethora of activities year-round. In the warmer months, visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking. The autumn season transforms the landscape into a vibrant tapestry of fall colors, perfect for scenic drives and photography.
