Whether you’re planning on skiing, rock climbing, trying another sport, or just getting out of town with your family for some quality time, this ski-in/ski-out condo in Okemo Mountain Resort is a great option. Between the proximity to the slopes, a shared seasonal pool and hot tubs, and easy access to golf and tennis, there’s something for everyone.
This condo is situated in Okemo Mountain Resort, right at the top of the Twin South Ridge Quad charlifts. Jackson Gore Village is within walking distance. Please note, during winter you may need 4WD to reach the resort.
Warm colors and a stone hearth with a wood fireplace lend a cozy atmosphere to the living area. Choose between a cable show and a DVD when you decide what to watch, or log onto the WiFi and check the powder report. If the kids are bored, set them up with the Wii while you prepare dinner.
The kitchen, which is fully equipped with everything you’ll want to make delicious meals, has stainless steel appliances and wooden cabinets. A coffeemaker helps you face the morning, and the dishwasher cuts down on cleanup time. When you’re done preparing breakfast, settle down around the dining table for a family meal.
Two bedrooms plus a sofabed provide space for up to eight guests. With a master bedroom featuring a king bed, TV, en suite bathroom, and glass doors leading outside, as well as a second bedroom with two twin bunk beds and its own bathroom, this is a great setup for a family. There’s even a private washer and dryer and ski locker.
Hit the slopes for an afternoon, or book a lesson first to work on your technique. Make sure to bring plenty of layers and lip balm! Once you’ve worked up an appetite, grab a quick bite to eat from the Roundhouse Cafe - the Vermont Maple Ham & Swiss is to die for. For date night, make a reservation at Kids Night Out so the children are taken care of and the adults can head into town for a dinner of Southern cuisine at the Downtown Grocery.
Feeling restless? Take a day trip to nearby Manchester and try out the handcrafted cheese at the Crowley Cheese Factory, or visit the American Museum of Fly Fishing to learn about the history of the popular pastime. Back in Ludlow, the excellent Weston Playhouse Theatre Company - Vermont’s longest-running professional theatre company - boasts a diverse season and is well worth a visit.
