About:
In the early 1950s John Zumstein set up shop with a handful of reindeer from Alaska. It eventually became the home of the largest domesticated herd in the nation, with over 120 reindeer. Many of these beautiful animals were featured during the holidays in places like Disneyland, and some even made their debut in movies and on TV shows!
For 70+ years the reindeer ranch was a must-see attraction in Central Oregon, with families coming from all over the country to visit this unique and magical place. Many memories were made at the Old Reindeer Ranch, and we hope many new memories will be made at this special historic Redmond property.
The home is less than 10 minutes from Eagle Crest, a resort with golf, outdoor recreation, dining and spa experiences. Bend is 25 minutes south for a day trip where you will find endless choices for shopping, sipping brews and coffee, the Deschutes River, the Old Mill District and High Desert Museum.
Smith Rock State Park beckons – about 10 minutes north of Redmond on Hwy 97. Experience hiking, rock climbing, trail running, mountain biking, slackening and horseback adventures.
Sisters is a short jaunt west of Redmond where you’ll find restaurants, shopping, fishing, Suttle Lake, and Hoodoo Ski Area. Don’t miss the Sisters Rodeo, Quilt Show or the Sisters Folk Fest.
This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don’t reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.
