While Lake Lure remains closed to swimming, boating, and fishing in 2025, there is still plenty to enjoy in the Town of Lake Lure! Chimney Rock State Park is closed until further notice but plans to reopen as soon as possible. Most restaurants in town are open for business along with beautiful trails and greenspaces (including Dittmer-Watts Nature Trails, Lake Lure Green Space, Pool Creek Picnic Park, Youngs Mountain, and Rumbling Bald Golf Courses).

Lakeshire on Lake Lure is the lake vacation destination of your dreams. You’ll want to spend every moment you have outside, taking in the lake and mountain views from the screened porch, lower level porch, boathouse with partially covered deck, and private dock. Beautiful interior with new furniture, this lake house is cozy, yet spacious. The main house and boathouse have beautiful views of Chimney Rock Mountain. This home includes 3 Smart TVs with streaming capabilities as well as a Dish Network in the living room and master bedroom.
Lakeshire is conveniently located on the Asheville side of Lake Lure- only 10 minutes to Chimney Rock Village and Chimney Rock State Park. Enjoy lakeside dining in Lake Lure at Lake House Restaurant Bar & Grill, La Strada, or Point of View- all within 15 minutes of Lakeshire. Explore adorable gift shops and restaurants along with Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery or Burntshirt Vineyards in Chimney Rock Village. You’re also within a 45-minute drive to downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Tryon International Equestrian Center, Hendersonville, and Black Mountain.
House Layout:
Main Level (with easy access from the parking area)- Full hall bath with walk-in shower only; kitchen with dishwasher, standard coffee maker, and bar seating for 3; steps down to the living area with TV and dining table; screened-in porch overlooking the lake.
Middle Level- Bedroom with built-in bunk bed; bedroom with queen bed.
Lower Level- Master bedroom with king bed and en-suite bathroom with double sinks and walk-in shower only; washer and dryer.
Outdoors- Accessible parking for 2 cars; grilling porch on the main level; porch off the master bedroom with steps leading down to the dock and boathouse deck; fenced-in yard great for kids and pet; hot tub and fire pit overlooking the late; private dock with ladder into the lake; private boathouse with upper deck with lounge chairs and ample seating under a cover. Please note that the garage part of the boathouse and boat lift are not included with the rental. Enjoy the lake by canoe, paddleboard, or kayak (2) usable to renters!
Please note: This house is dog-friendly, with a $100.00 non-refundable fee per dog (maximum of two). Sorry, this home is not cat-friendly due to common allergies. There is a Ring doorbell camera. From November to March, Lake Lure lowers water levels to about 12 ft. below normal levels. Lakeshire has a 7-day minimum stay requirement (Saturday-Saturday) during the summer months. Lakeshire on Lake Lure is subject to specific regulations and guidelines enforced by Lake Lure. Certain types of watercraft are prohibited, and ALL watercraft (motorized and non-motorized) must obtain and display a permit issued by the town to be on the lake.
