Porridge Pot is your next vacation destination! Named by the owner’s daughter after the bowls of porridge Goldilocks tasted when she visited the three bears’ home, you’re sure to find it’s JUST RIGHT!!
This unique mountain home offers stunning mountain views, and arcade games and is tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of noisy lives. Plus, it’s less than a mile from beautiful Pisgah National Forest with beautiful hiking and views!
The main level of the home has beautiful hardwood floors, a well-equipped full kitchen, dining table, and a seating area arranged around a gas log fireplace and a Smart TV. Time for bed? Pick one of the four bedrooms. On the main level is a King suite with TV and spacious walk-in closet. The attached private bath has a tiled shower with handheld wand and double granite vanities.
Upstairs are three bedrooms plus a loft. To one side is a queen bedroom with TV. It has a private door to the upper level full bathroom that also opens to the loft. Nearby is a smaller bedroom with a twin over twin bunk. Across the loft, with the double doors, is a room with two twin beds, great for kids or teens. The game room is another space for friends to gather and enjoy the air hockey, arcade games (Pac-Man, golf, Mortal Combat) , flat-screen TV, bar seating, AC, and mini fridge for snacks.
Outside, the covered main level deck is perfect for enjoying the spectacular year-round layered mountain views. Dine at the picnic table, with ceiling fans for any warm summer evenings.
Located perfectly center between Linville, NC and Marion, NC, Porridge Pot is just a hop skip & jump from all that the High Country and the foothills have to offer. Get away today to this lovely home!
Additional Notes:
- Internet is currently Satellite-based with a monthly data cap. It’s adequate for checking emails and general web browsing but should NOT be used for streaming, videos, or gaming activities. Depending on your phone carrier, your cell phone signal may or may not work in this location.
-Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week’s notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.

- This home allows up to 2 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25.00 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
- There are multiple exterior security cameras at this home. One is above the garage facing the driveway; two face the decks from corners of the home; one faces towards the backyard; and one faces the second driveway.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled with a 15+ day notice will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 8-14 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of their reservation payments. Bookings canceled within 7 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
