Multi-million dollar custom home within the prestigious Eagles Nest development, featuring two master suites with fireplaces, gourmet kitchen equipped with a Keurig Duo, pool table, XBOX game system with 2 games, six total fireplaces plus an outdoor fire pit, breathtaking long-range views and an easy hike over to the Great Camp area.
NOTE: Since Eagles Nest is a premier mountain destination, new home construction is prevalent on the mountain. Be aware that you are likely to experience some heavier than usual traffic on the mountain between the hours of 7-8am and 4-5pm. You may also hear construction sounds from homes being built on the same street, or new mountain amenities being added nearby.

Welcome to Big Bear Lodge. This luxury vacation rental is located in the exclusive gated community of The Lodges of Eagles Nest, in the charming town of Banner Elk, North Carolina. This multi-million dollar custom home is appointed with the finest furnishings to compliment the home. With a large amount of decks and outdoor living space it is ever so easy to take advantage of the amazing mountain views for miles and miles.
Just a few of the finishes that make this such a spectacular home are the post and beam style great room with western red cedar and Douglas fir, solid walnut floors and heart of pine custom doors, multiple fireplaces, large hot tub and impressive stone fire pit area. Professionally decorated with all the best comforts and conveniences, Big Bear Lodge has always been one of our most popular Eagles Nest vacation homes.
This inviting luxury home offers an open floor plan on the main level, perfect for taking in the breathtaking long-range views during the day and counting the stars at night. Comfortable seating, a large flat-screen television and wood-burning fireplace complement the living area, along with custom bark and twig accents. The kitchen is a joy for the chef, with a wonderful Thermador gas range, unique custom wood and granite counters and another opportunity to enjoy the views. Enjoy your meal in comfortable leather chairs gathered around the large custom glass dining table, or during warm weather just gather around the large outdoor dining table located at the best vantage point to take in the mountain splendor.
The first master bedroom is located on the main level, with king bed, gas fireplace and enticing master bath complete with large soaking tub and oversize steam shower. Solid walls up to a traditional ceiling height open to to the lofted ceilings, allowing more natural light in these spaces. Upstairs, find the loft with two twin beds, and your second master bedroom, with a majestic king bed, gas fireplace, large flat-screen television with a similar wall structure as the main level suite, and unique master bath (this one features a lovely oversized claw foot tub).
Downstairs, guests will enjoy the welcoming family room, again with large windows to take in the views. Comfortable seating, unique log furnishings and a gas fireplace exude the mountain aura, and the large flat screen television is perfect for movie night while others enjoy a game of pool. Or step out onto the deck and enjoy a soak in the large hot tub. The final two bedrooms are also on this level, each with a custom queen bed and deck access.
Big Bear Lodge also offers a fantastic stone outdoor fire pit area that looks like it came right out of a national park and two outdoor fireplaces on the decks. Or, hike down the road to the Great Camp area. For those seeking a relaxing getaway enjoying the finest amenities while enjoying the views to those seeking an active getaway immersed in the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Big Bear Lodges at Eagle Nest holds something for everyone.
Big Bear Lodge has convenient paved access all the way to the driveway. Two bays of the garage are available for guest use.
Larger groups may enjoy renting this home along with any of our other Eagle’s Nest properties.
Additional amenities include - a porta crib, high chair, two toddler mattresses, two sleeping bags, hair dryers, a whole home water filtration system, two full size refrigerators plus a mini fridge and stand alone ice-maker, Direct TV, and a worry free experience with a whole home generator incase of emergencies.

Eagles Nest Winery day passes are available onsite for $25.00 each
HOURS: Thur & Fri 4p-10p; Sat 2p-10p; Sun 2p-8p. (Please verify hours directly with the winery, as times may vary seasonally.)
Please note all visitors on premise at the Winery must be 16 years or older, with the exception of Sundays. This is strictly enforced.
Guest do not have access to the locked off portion of the Sportsman’s Lodge, the Fitness Center, or the Wine & Cigar Bar. That is for member use only.
Additional Notes:
- Depending on the home, 4WD, chains or sometimes both may be required when visiting the mountains in winter. Access to this home may not be suitable for vehicles with rear wheel drive, limited ground clearance, or motorcycles even during summer months. We are happy to help you find the home with the access you are most comfortable with, any time of year!
- Firewood may be added at the time of booking, or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You’ll get two wrapped bundles of kiln dried wood and a firestarter for $25/night plus taxes.
- Guests are responsible for supplying their own recreational equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, tennis equipment etc.)
- The summer concerts are open to all guests however there may be an admission fee for each person and cash bar for food and drinks.
- Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice.
- Pet rent: $25/nt per pet. Mature, well-trained dogs 50lb and under only, please. Limit of two.
- Please note that all Eagles Nest homes have internet, but some areas of travel may not have cell reception.
- Guests are not allowed to bring their own ATV’s.
- Please be advised that private ATVs are not permitted in the community and will be denied entry at the gates.
- Eagles Nest is an up and coming community, with construction currently going on in several of its neighborhoods. Construction noises may be heard 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. All linens and towels included in home.
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- Please note that the distances shown on OTA’s map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Bookings canceled within 24 hours of their creation will receive a full refund of payments. Bookings canceled more than 24 hours after their creation are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
