The spacious primary suite features a king bed and ensuite bathroom, while glass-paneled doors throughout the main floor lead to a covered outdoor living area — the true heart of this home. WHERE YOU’LL SLEEP: * Bedroom #1: King Bed (main level - TV) * Bedroom #2 - Queen bed (upstairs) * Bedroom #3 - Twin over Full Bunk Bed (upstairs) LOCATION: In the heart of the Lake Vallecito recreation area, you are 1 mile from the marina, hiking, biking and ATV trails, fishing, hunting, ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling - the San Juan wilderness area is at your doorstep! Vallecito also has a few restaurants and general stores. Appx 25 miles to downtown Durango and 50 miles to Purgatory Ski Resort. NO PETS: Pets are not allowed at this home. COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s. NOTE: In winter (November through April), 4WD is required. It is NECESSARY that you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, vehicles with medium to high clearance and winter/snow tires.  Although the roads and driveway are well-maintained, the road leading up to the home is somewhat steep and will be snow packed and slick. Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities. VRC CANCELLATION POLICY: If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.
