Stroll across the road, cross an open field, and find yourself at the water’s edge and on a six-mile trail that runs all the way to Point St. George Park. Watch for whales, sea lions, and busy shore birds, or just beachcomb for agates and shells on your trek. To the south, check out Battery Point Lighthouse and Park, a great place to toss the Frisbee and watch the fishing boats bringing in their catch of the day. There are also restaurants that you can walk to including a family-owned pizza parlor and a Thai restaurant. Annual Crescent City events include the Del Norte County Spring Fair and the Sea Cruise Car Show which is held each October over Columbus Day weekend. Other fun events include the Smith River Days Festival, the Klamath Salmon Festival, and the Blackberry Festival & Harvest Celebration.
