Treehouse Feels with Serene Landscapes
Secluded in a lush canopy of tall trees on Cherry Log Mountain, the Blue Ridge cabin rental Cherokee Creek offers you the serene beauty of nature and all the comforts and modern amenities of a home away from home. Named for both the Cherokee Indians who lived in the area and for the creek that runs through a hollow below the property, the cabin is cozy and charming, like a grown-up version of the treehouse you loved as a kid.
There are three lakes about a third of a mile’s walk, or drive from the cabin’s door, with parking area and covered pavilion to enjoy activities like fishing and kayaking awaiting you, so bring your gear. It’s just eight miles to downtown Blue Ridge, where you’ll find fun eateries like Mystic Mountain Pizza, Rum Cake Lady Cuban Food Café and Southern Charm, for fried chicken and fried green tomatoes. Hop on the Blue Ridge Railway to McCaysville or visit the many breweries, wineries and orchards in the area and go home with yummy samples.
Inside, the all-wood, ceiling fan-cooled interior and comfy rustic furniture gives Cherokee Creek a warm and welcoming ambience, and the animal-themed décor represents the deer, turkeys, and bears that populate the surrounding woods. Barred owls make their nests nearby, and you can hear their calls from late afternoon into the evening.
As for the modern conveniences, you’ll find WiFi, five smart flat screen TVs with cable, Netflix and Amazon Prime (46” with DVD in the living room, 65” in the game room, and 42” in the bedrooms), and a state-of-the-art kitchen. It’s outfitted with new black stainless steel appliances including gas stove/oven, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher and microwave, custom cabinets, granite countertops, a pantry, crockpot, toaster, blender, mixer, drip and Keurig coffeemakers, electric can opener and all the cooking and serving implements you’ll need. The Amish hickory dining table seat seats six. Or fire up the gas grill and enjoy your dinner on the screened-in porch, where you’ll find a bistro table, chairs, rockers, glider and a hot tub with a great view of the woods.
When it’s time to turn in for the night, you’ll slumber in comfort in one of three bedrooms. The downstairs master suite has a king log bed and private bath with tub and shower, and the two main level bedrooms have queen log beds and share an adjacent bath with tub and shower. Each bathroom has granite countertops, china sinks and elongated European-style flush toilets.
Cherokee Creek’s other features and amenities include a game room with gas fireplace, shuffleboard table, and board games, a wood burning fireplace in the living room, a beverage cooler, washer/dryer, ironing board and iron, fire pit with seating for six, and paved mountain road to the gravel driveway.
Whether you’re looking for a family vacation spot or a getaway with friends, you’re welcome to bring up to two well-behaved, housebroken dogs along to enjoy your stay in this very special place.
