The Alighieri D is the largest between the four apartments comprising the whole top floor of this authentic historical building that we call Palazzo Alighieri.
It is found in the west side of Castello District, next to Ponte dei Greci, only a few minutes’ walk from San Marco Square, in one of the most integrally authentic parts of the city.
In the surroundings there are lots of artisan and antique ateliers, local food shops and delicious osterie (traditional restaurants). Some of the cultural landmarks that can be found close by in Castello beside the well-known Arsenale and Biennale Gardens include Basilica Santi Giovanni e Paolo, Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, Church of San Giorgio dei Greci, Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Church of San Zaccaria and many others.
The Alighieri can be reached from the Marco Polo Airport by private water taxi in about 20 minutes ride through the lagoon, or in less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Vaporetto (ferry boat) stop San Zaccaria, thus conveniently located.
The entire property has been completely and luxuriously restored in 2013: an elevator has been installed, the original terrazzo flooring repaired, frescoes and stuccoes brought back to the ancient splendour, the terrace equipped with table, sunshade and sun chairs, at the ground floor a Sauna is available on request.
A welcoming hallway leads you straight into the grand master bedroom, where superb furnishings and plenty of natural light really enhance the beauty of this exquisite bedroom. Sleep under the frescoed ceiling and feel like a Doge as you awake!
The elegant living room showcases a contemporary and functional open plan kitchen, while offering very comfortable sitting space on a designer sofa. Dine either at the main table or at the breakfast bar, part of the kitchen. There is an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and a further en-suite bathroom with shower for the second bedroom. This bedroom has a more contemporary feel with crisp linens and fresh interiors. A clever mix of classic and contemporary to suit all. The apartment features a spacious attic floor that can be used as playroom or extra bedroom with a French size bed (140 cm wide) perfect for 2 children or 1 adult.
All four apartments can be rented together for groups of up to 14 people. Book now the Palazzo Alighieri, the perfect accommodation solution for groups that aim for maximum privacy or for family reunions with well-behaved children.

About the area
Venice, Italy, is a city that enchants its visitors with its distinctive blend of history, artistry, and romance. The city is uniquely constructed on over 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Instead of roads and cars, Venice is characterized by its waterways and gondolas, offering a truly unique urban experience.
St. Mark's Square stands as one of the city's most iconic landmarks. It is home to St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace. The basilica boasts stunning Byzantine mosaics while the palace showcases Gothic architecture and grand rooms adorned with art - both are symbols of Venice's rich historical heritage.
The Grand Canal is another must-visit attraction in Venice. A gondola ride along this major waterway provides breathtaking views of beautiful palaces and historic buildings lining its banks. For those passionate about art, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection offers an impressive collection of modern art from renowned artists like Picasso and Pollock.
Venice takes pride in its glassmaking industry located on the island of Murano where visitors can witness artisans crafting intricate glass pieces using age-old techniques.
The city also hosts several globally recognized events such as the Venice Biennale art exhibition and the Venice Film Festival which draw artists and celebrities worldwide.
For gastronomes, Venetian cuisine offers fresh seafood from the lagoon and traditional dishes like risotto nero (black risotto) made with cuttlefish ink.
In summary, Venice presents an irresistible mix of history, culture, artistic talent, gastronomy, and romance that makes it an ideal destination for any traveler.
