The loop is a nice 15-20 minute stroll, a mossy forest wonderland that is a treat for families. If you are ambitious, we also were excited to report that if you are sufficiently motivated, you can actually walk through the forest to the SW Canyon beach access (just north on Coast Ave). It took our family an hour and a half to do a loop through the forest, along the beach, and back up (with a six year old and a two year old in back pack). Pay attention to stick along the stream, otherwise you will pop out on Coast Ave and can walk the rest on the road as well. Within Lincoln City you’ll discover a wide array of attractions, including Devil’s Lake State Park where you can spend summer days kayaking with local guides, or in the winter months, you can search the beach for glass floats!
