Main St. in Livingston Manor is just minutes away! Just across the road, the property features 1,100 yards of riverfront rights on the Willowemoc, one of the area’s hallowed trout rivers. Throughout the five-bedroom farmhouse, the interior design showcases the original features such as pressed tin ceilings, rosewood floors with intricate wood-work and exposed rafters, and juxtaposes them with a mix of 1970s modern European furniture and pieces from current New York-based designers. The well-stocked chef’s kitchen has includes a modern Wolf gas range and oven, two sinks, dishwasher, wine fridge, and Mocamaster coffee machine. Sip coffee in the breakfast nook or continue on to the dining room to host a memorable feast for friends and family. A short hallway extends from the kitchen to the dining room on one end and a full bathroom on the other. Across from the kitchen is the sun-soaked living room with pressed tin ceilings, a fireplace, a collection of games and puzzles, and a high-end vintage stereo with streaming capability and vinyl collection. Continue into the den and cozy up on the large L-shaped De Sede buffalo leather sofa with 55’ Roku TV. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a king bed and en suite bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower. The second floor features four more bedrooms: another king, two queens, and a twin, along with a shared bathroom with a shower and tub. Each room has been thoughtfully decorated with handpicked items, crisp linens, and vintage rugs atop hardwood floors throughout. A dedicated landing office connects the two sides of the second story. Head outside to the bluestone patio to grill or over to the fire pit and stargaze to the soothing background sound of Boscom Brook. Pro Tip: The design approach to this house features many beautiful and delicate pieces. We really discourage families with young children from selecting this particular property. But send us an email, and we can direct you to a more bulletproof family option! Hamlin House is less than two hours from New York City, and while you’ll definitely want a car to get there and around the area, there is also a Short Line bus to the city from Monticello, about 20 minutes away. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads. A/C & Cooling: There are window AC units available for each of the bedrooms. Fans are also available. License number: 09170522

Amenities include a wood burning stove, firepit, pool table and game room, outdoor dining, and access to the best hiking and dining in the region, including great fly-fishing spots! Main St. in Roscoe is also just minutes away! Just a five minute drive from the center of Roscoe, Fulton House is tucked up in the woods, fronted by an open stretch of level lawn. The interior marries a contemporary sensibility (think light and glass) with a rustic vibe (the pine paneled ceiling, and country views) and excels at hosting groups and families due to its numerous gathering spots. Entering via the lower level, you can drop your outdoor gear and then take in the various leisure activities set up for you. There is the comfy sectional and TV for your binge watching pleasure, a games table perfect for cards, puzzles or board games, a darts board and a pool table where you always have next game. There is a half bath down here, as well as a laundry room, which is quite handy for longer-term stays. Upstairs two sets of bedrooms flank either side of the large, open plan space. The wood stove is the focal point of the lounging area, while the dining table enjoys plenty of dedicated space, not to mention a view out over the lawn. So many of the important moments connecting everyone take place around the dining table, so it’s fitting that the modern kitchen with island is well-appointed, facilitating the preparation of these meals with ease. The master bedroom with king bed is quite spacious and is en suite with a modern bathroom with tub/shower behind the sliding barn door. The bedroom next door has two twins. On the far side of the great room are another two bedrooms (queen and full) and a shared bathroom with modern tiled shower. When the leaves have fallen it’s easy to glimpse distant hills through the bare trees. In summer, the lush woods encircle the large lawn, where the fire pit beckons, and a long deck off the main space is guaranteed to be your hangout both day and night. A/C: There is a mini split unit in the living room and window units in 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Fans are provided for the fourth bedroom with twin and full beds. License number: 20200760

Brookside Manor - Elegance near Livingston Manor

Livingston Manor, NY, US
4 Bedrooms 7 Guests
Sep 1 - 4
$602 night

Brookside Manor is an elegant country escape in the heart of the Catskills, located 2 hours from NYC. Set on 8 acres with open meadows and babbling brooks, this home has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Amenities include a heated swimming pool, fireplace, firepit, outdoor dining, and access to the best hiking and dining in the region. Livingston Manor and Jeffersonville are both under 10 minutes away. With Brookside Manor’s light-filled rooms, and almost 8 acres of prime, stream-front land, there’s plenty of room to relax and explore. As easy as it is to get lost in the allure of the bucolic setting — an expansive lush, green lawn, with spots of thick moss, a lovely bluestone patio for outdoor dining, a beautiful salt-water pool with a sundeck, a charming campfire circle surrounded by Adirondack chairs, a rolling brook through the entire length of the backyard, ripe apples and pears from mature fruit trees — the house itself really is the main attraction. A semi-circular paved driveway leads behind the house, and passes under a covered portico along the side. The newly renovated kitchen features a custom Sub-Zero refrigerator, a stunning Bertazzoni oven, substantial workspace and beautiful black soapstone counters. Just off the kitchen, through an arched doorway, is a little breakfast nook with windows through which you’ll find yourself birdwatching over coffee, while there’s a large dining room just around the corner featuring a century-old farm table from Spain. Enjoy the views from the calming but cheerful sunroom, a wonderful hang-out spot. A generous stone fireplace anchors the far end of the living room. Original old-growth heart pine woodwork, and aged oak floors have been lovingly cared for over the years, and provide a warm counterpoint to the white stucco walls throughout the house. Along the back hallway you’ll find a large, full bathroom with a bathtub and walk-in shower, as well as a cozy den with an Apple TV and full sized futon available for additional sleeping accommodations. Upstairs is the master bedroom, a queen, next to which is a shared bathroom. A glass shower occupies the center of the bathroom, around which is a luxurious soaking tub and a dressing area. Further down the hall are three more bedrooms: two are full-sized, and the smaller room has a twin bed. All of the house’s closets are lined in cedar. Throughout, the house has a serene feeling, a relaxing but modern tone, punctuated by carefully selected art and furniture pieces. On the property, you will find 10 massive spruce trees and an abundance of apple and pear trees and blackberry bushes. Stone trails throughout the property lead to the brook for easy access. The brook itself is enchanting, and the main reason the owners purchased the property, with large swaths of natural rock formations for sunbathing, wading and simply enjoying the sound of the water, which can be heard throughout the property. Perfectly situated, this property is ideal for exploring nearby country towns, including Livingston Manor, Jeffersonville, Narrowsburg, and Callicoon. Whether you enjoy antiquing, restaurants, hiking or other outdoor activities, there is plenty to do. The delightful farmhouse was built by the Menges family in 1930, when they housed a few guests and ran a small farm to supply fresh vegetables, fruit and dairy to the resort they owned at the top of the hill in Shandelee. Brookside Manor is less than two hours from New York City, and while you’ll definitely want a car to get there and around the area, there is also a Short Line bus to the city from Monticello, about 20 minutes away. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads. Note: This home is not equipped with air conditioning. Fans are provided in each bedroom for your comfort. *Please note the pool opens from mid-to-late May until mid-to-late September. Please inquire regarding specific opening and closing dates. Nestled on a hillside, surrounded by 39 acres of private forest with jaw-dropping views, Lilac Hill is a recently renovated, antique lover’s dream. The driveway winds through the woods arriving at the enchanting green shuttered cottage, seemingly plucked out of the English countryside. The first thing you’ll notice when you enter the beautifully-appointed living room is the striking view of the Callicoon hills that is evident through the ten foot sliding glass doors. After that, it’s all about the pitch perfect country cottage décor, melding a curated antiques collection with layered textiles, resulting in THE most cozy, relaxing environment. There is plenty of comfortable seating, so you’ll live in this space, gathering around the fire in winter, grabbing a movie on the Smart TV, or simply hanging out and connecting with your fellow travelers. On the other side of the ground floor is the master bedroom, also appointed with large sliding glass doors for private access out onto a small bluestone patio. The unique bedframe is an East Lake antique. The master en suite bathroom features a soaking tub, as well as a walk in shower. There is a second full bathroom with a walk-in rain shower rounding out the ground floor. Upstairs are the remaining three bedrooms, each unique and impeccably appointed, with wonderful artwork, furnishings and quilts. There are queen, king and full bedrooms on this level. The cleared grounds surrounding the house are lush and parklike, with a symphony of blossoms from spring into summer, including stands of lilac (typically bloom between mid May and Memorial Day), magnolia, dogwood, hydrangeas, apple trees and cherry trees. The fire pit and hammocks are sited to maximize exposure to the view, which is west-facing, meaning this property is sunset central. Centrally located, you couldn’t be in a better location to access the buzz of numerous popular country towns, including Jeffersonville (4 miles) and Livingston Manor and Callicoon (both 15 minutes), with their abundant eateries, breweries and shops. Don’t miss out on area dining favorite, Conover Club, just two minutes away. Lilac Hill is just over two hours from New York City, and you’ll definitely want a car to get there and to explore around the area. A/C: The three upstairs bedrooms have window AC units.
