Rammed earth is an ancient construction method seen in Europe, New Zealand, Africa and drier climates and uses a combination of native materials, a binding agent and colorant to mix into the material by batch. For Morning Dove, the owners took the soil from this property, which is mostly granite, screened it to get the consistency they wanted and mixed it with specific colored mortars. The mixture is poured into forms and compacted by a tamper. Once the first layer was completed, the forms were moved, and the process was repeated. This type of sustainable design does not exist anywhere in the California high-desert. We have weekly pool cleanings, this day may fall on your stay and your cooperation will keep the hot tub clean and balanced at all times. Please rinse off any oils, lotions, or substances before entering the spa, as these can affect water quality and cause discoloration. No drinking in the hot tub, please. Be sure to keep the cover on when not in use, especially since we’re in the desert and debris can easily get into the water. Here are some key points to remember: Water Temperature: Due to the extreme heat, the cold-water supply may not feel “cold” but rather warm. This is a natural occurrence and not a fault with the plumbing system. Air Conditioning: Our HVAC systems are designed to cool the interior of the homes by up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 11 degrees Celsius) below the outside temperature. Therefore, if it’s 100+ degrees Fahrenheit outside (37+ degrees Celsius), the interior temperature will average around 80 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 27 degrees Celsius), regardless of how low the thermostat is set. Heat Safety Tips: Stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and make use of shaded areas whenever possible. - Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid alcohol and caffeine as they can lead to dehydration. - Wear Appropriate Clothing: Choose lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to reflect heat and sunlight. - Apply Sunscreen: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. An SUV will not be needed as they are maintained dirt roads but they can be a little bumpy. • A/C & Heater Rancho Nopales is cooled and heated by central heating and air conditioning through the house and a mini split in the large bedroom with two beds to keep you comfortable all year long. • FIRE Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no open flames fire policy BUT the propane fire pit located outside if allowed. If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, in a fire pit, using fireworks or other open fire (propane excluded when used IN the propane firepit and propane grill provided) means your rental agreement will be terminated and there is a $200 fine. • HOT TUB + POOL - legal Guest agrees to release, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge Host and Host’s employees, agents, successors and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities or causes of action of any kind that guest, members of guest’s household or guest’s guests or invitees may have at any time against Host or Host’s agents resulting from guest’s use of the pool. • GUESTS You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests. • IDENTITY VERIFICATION You will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identity and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash- encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. The house sits on 10 beautiful acres, with a pool for the hot summer days and hot tub for a night of relaxing and star gazing. Joshua Tree National Park entrance is 15 minutes away. In the artists’ community of Joshua Tree, you can also explore the galleries and shops and grab a bite to eat. • OTHER THINGS TO NOTE Professionally managed by Property Manager • RENTAL AGREEMENT There will be a rental agreement sent out that will need a signature to complete the reservation • PROPERTY The house sits on a shared 10 acre lot. You probably won’t see anyone while you’re there and the amenities are not shared but you may see people walking to and from their car to the cabin as they’re continuing on with their day. Book the entire compound all to yourself for maximum privacy please look up Constellation Compound on your booking platform. • POOL UMBRELLA The pool umbrella is not available at this time. The winds can be very strong at times and it kept getting broken. There is a shade structure to lounge around in next to the pool, but there wont be an umbrella for shade while you are inside the and using the pool. • POOL Currently, the pool is not heated so if you are booking this home in the colder months, please be aware of this. Usually in the summer the pool will be better 70s- mid 80s. • ROAD TO THE HOUSE MoonView Modern is located about 5 miles down dirt roads, please drive with caution and arrive before nightfall when possible. An SUV wont be needed as they are maintained dirt roads but they can be a little bumpy. • WIFI Please note the wifi may be spotty at times due to the remote location of the home. • GUESTS You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests. • FIRE Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no open flames fire policy BUT the propane fire pit located outside if allowed. If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, in a fire pit, using fireworks or other open fire (propane excluded when used IN the propane firepit and propane grill provided) means your rental agreement will be terminated and there is a $200 fine. • WASHER/DRYER House has a washer and dryer available to guests that are staying with us for an extended period of 3 or more days. If you are traveling with an infant or young children please let us know and we will give you access to the laundry room. • IDENTITY VERIFICATION You will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identity and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash- encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. Data-input in the vault is encrypted in a two-way function where information is scrambled using an encryption key and unscrambled later using a decryption key. On top of that, we use hashing to add an extra layer of security using a one-way function where a unique message digest is generated from an input file or a string of text. No keys are used.
