OUTDOOR SPACE: The whole 2.5 acres are fully fenced and features an in-ground pool, in-ground jacuzzi, propane fire pit, sauna, and tanning chairs. There is another area for yoga with a view, outdoor tub, outdoor shower, and more! We wanted to inform you that due to high winds in the area, we will not have pool umbrellas available during your stay. Unfortunately, the windy conditions can easily damage them, and we prioritize your safety and comfort. We wanted to inform you that the outdoor mini fridge has been removed. However, our indoor fridge is fully available for your use! It’s perfect for storing food and keeping your beverages cool. If forcibly entered you could be held liable for any unaccounted for item. ◦ HOT TUB & POOL Hot Tub Use: Please avoid using the hot tub immediately after it’s been serviced, as chemical levels are temporarily elevated. We have weekly pool cleanings, this day may fall on your stay and your cooperation will keep the hot tub clean and balanced at all times. Please rinse off any oils, lotions, or substances before entering the spa, as these can affect water quality and cause discoloration. No drinking in the hot tub, please. Be sure to keep the cover on when not in use, especially since we’re in the desert and debris can easily get into the water. Any misuse of the hot tub may result in an additional charge for extra maintenance. IMPORTANT NOTE for HOT TUB and POOL To turn on and turn off the hot tub, please communicate through Airbnb message. Please note that we need to have the hot tub requested within 2 hours of use in order to conserve propane. We want to ensure that the hot tub is available for all guests to use, and conserving propane is an important part of that. To protect your own health, safety, and the integrity of tub and linens, and to ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of our facilities all guests must shower before and after using hot tub. Both bedrooms offer a cozy sleeping area with a queen bed and attached bathroom with a rainfall shower. The outdoor dining area has a large table for your whole group and cafe lights for added ambiance. We also provide a propane grill for a fun desert cookout. NO diving is allowed at anytime. Currently, the pool is not heated so if you are booking this home in the colder months, please be aware of this. Usually in the summer the pool will be better 70s- mid 80s. • SECOND BEDROOM The bedroom with the bunks beds - the bottom two bunk beds are the only allowable beds to be used. We do not provide any way to get to the top two bunks as they are NOT for guest use. The bottom two beds will be available for your stay. There is a full wall between the two beds and create a "pod" feeling once in the space. • OUTSIDE MUSIC Any and all amplified outside music is not allowed per the county code. We do not supply any speakers and we do not allow any speakers at the property. • PETS Pets are not allowed at this property due to the homeowner having severe allergies and asthma • ROADS This property is located on about 3 miles of dirt roads. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain • DIRECTIONS GPS should bring you easily to the property • A/C & Heater The house is cooled and heated by central heating and air conditioning to keep you comfortable all year long. • FIRE Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no open flames fire policy BUT the propane fire pit located outside if allowed. If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, in a fire pit, using fireworks or other open fire (propane excluded when used IN the propane firepit and propane grill provided) means your rental agreement will be terminated and there is a $200 fine. • HOT TUB + POOL - legal Guest agrees to release, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge Host and Host’s employees, agents, successors and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities or causes of action of any kind that guest, members of guest’s household or guest’s guests or invitees may have at any time against Host or Host’s agents resulting from guest’s use of the pool. • GUESTS You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests. • IDENTITY VERIFICATION You will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identity and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash- encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. Data-input in the vault is encrypted in a two-way function where information is scrambled using an encryption key and unscrambled later using a decryption key. On top of that, we use hashing to add an extra layer of security using a one-way function where a unique message digest is generated from an input file or a string of text. No keys are used. The property is situated near a main road, providing convenient access to the surrounding area. Because of this location, guests may hear occasional traffic and engine sounds during their stay. The tradeoff is an easy-to-reach retreat that still feels tucked away among the boulders and away from the hustle and bustle of town. Joshua Tree National Park is approximately 12 miles away, making it easy to spend the day hiking, climbing, exploring the iconic desert landscape or watching the sunset before returning to your private retreat. Pioneertown is approximately 7.6 miles away, while Palm Springs is about 30 miles from the home. The entire property is yours to enjoy! You will receive your smart lock access code before your arrival! Please note that there is a locked storage shed located in the backyard that is not accessible to guests and is used for rental supplies. The canyon is uniquely surrounded by the only flat-topped mesas in California. And is a short drive to Downtown Pioneertown and Joshua Tree National Park. Once you arrive, you may never want to leave. No detail was spared in imagining and bringing to life this modern oasis, from the fully stocked Chef’s kitchen facing the wide open dining room and living room, with picture window views of sunrise and sunset; the built in archway bookshelf warmly curated with classic literature and across the breezeway leading to the outdoor dining patio; to a fully functioning outdoor hot tub where you can relax. ◦ About the Owner The owner spent most of her life working in the entertainment industry, but has her MFA from Berkley and now spends her time building ceramics in her studio in Los Angeles. She has a strong affinity for the California Desert and wanted to create a space where she and her family or guests could come and unplug and be inspired to create in any all media, or to simply relax and reset. She wanted the space itself to be richly endowed with it’s own unique aesthetic which would help to create the most memorable experience. There are no cameras inside the home or in any private outdoor areas. -Desert Wildlife & Safety Tips- The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs including ESAs/service animals should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants.
