Forest Heights is a delightfully stylish, slightly boho, sunlit wine country getaway. This wonderfully renovated home gives guests plenty of room to spread out. The cozy covered porch entry leads into an open living and dining floor plan with vaulted ceilings, plenty of natural light, and updated kitchen. Upstairs is the main living area with two bedrooms and a full bathroom, kitchen, and hot tub deck. Downstairs is a separate suite (exterior stairs), with bathroom, bedroom, office space, and outdoor lounge with gas-firepit. The outdoor areas are truly unique, with multiple levels, a forest view deck, loads of amenities, and creative touches everywhere. Relax in the hot tub under the stars or gather around the gas firepit with a glass of wine from one of the nearby wineries. Know Before You Book: Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Forest Heights is 6 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times. Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 2 standard vehicles on the carport. There is no street parking, so please park only on the parking deck. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance. Rural Setting and Critters: We live in a rural area with ants, spiders, rodents, and larger critters from mountain lions to bears. And keeping all critters out is simply not possible. We appreciate your help in putting tasty smelling items into refrigerators, proper disposal of trash, and understanding that ants (especially) come in without warning and may not have been present at the time of cleaning. Stairs: One flight of stairs from carport to front door or one flight of steps from the road to the front door. The house is two levels with exterior stairs between levels. The third bedroom and second bathroom are on the lower level, which acts as its own suite with a laptop-ready workspace. Pet Friendly: This home welcomes up to 2 well-mannered dogs. Additional fruit trees are scattered throughout the property. With a large in-line gas BBQ on the back deck, and choice dining in or outside, guests love cooking in as much as going out. The kitchen boasts plentiful counter space, deluxe appliances and quality accessories. The attention to details like original artwork, ample lighting, 60+ inch TV and access to fresh cut flowers from the garden make for an excellent retreat. The main house boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with an office/laundry room, and living and dining areas off the large kitchen. Just outside - off the back deck - are an additional full bathroom and an outdoor shower for your trips to the pool and hot tub (built into the pool). The Pool House offers an additional sleeping space with a Queen Murphy bed and sleeper sofa in case your group isn’t all couples - the maximum occupancy is still 6 people total. It’s also a media room - perfect for movie time - and things like a break from the sun and gourmet coffee station. Welcome to Black Mountain! This amazing property is the source of joyous memories for the owners and their extended family and friends for many years. And, they’re excited to share it with you! The Farmhouse and Pool House are situated on 92 beautiful acres in the Russian River Valley, with views of serene forests and hills. Though private (there is an onsite caretaker family), Black Mountain is in the ideal location for your Sonoma County getaway. The Russian River is just under a mile away, and there are numerous wineries and vineyards within a short drive. The Farmhouse was built in 1932 and retains much of its original character. On the main floor, the modernized kitchen with extensive counter space, breakfast table, bar seating and adjacent enclosed sun room with ping-pong table allows you to gather with friends and family while cooking, eating and playing without breaking up the festivities. The kitchen is well stocked for serious food events and well lit with generous windows and built in lighting. The living room with woodstove and TV (DVD player only), a second dining area and a bedroom with queen bed and a full bathroom round out the downstairs area. A wide deck with built in bench and additional seating stretches the length of the Farm House and wraps around the kitchen to end at an outdoor shower. Upstairs you’ll enjoy the updated 2 full bathrooms and décor throughout the 4 bedrooms - each one is distinctive with original artwork and pieces collected locally and around the world blended with contemporary touches. Two of the bedrooms open to a balcony overlooking the valley and hills. The Pool House, just down the driveway from the Farmhouse, was designed and custom built in 1999 by the current owners. Your first stop at the Pool House is the great room with open trestle ceilings, fireplace, built-in window seat, generous seating areas including a lovely wood dining table, and kitchen with ample wood and concrete counter tops. International folk art and on- of-a-kind furniture make this a remarkable space to gather. There are also musical instruments - a piano, guitar and drums - and sheet music and lyrics for the musically talented. With multiple exterior entrances and large outdoor gathering spaces, the vibe is distinctly upscale camping. An extensive covered patio with built in grill and large table connects the great room to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The two spacious bedrooms and half bath (toilet and sink) are up a set of exterior stairs. Exterior doors lead from a small covered outdoor hallway into each bedroom and the half bath. The bedroom facing the hillside has a queen bed and a private patio and the bedroom facing the lawn and pool area has two queen beds. Both have grand windows to allow sunlight and great views! On the ground level, the full bathroom is definitely upscale camping! The entrance is below the front bedroom and faces the pool area, but once inside the shower and toilet have separate rooms and there are benches and hooks for all towels, shoes and clothes while you play at the pool. Abundant outdoor seating areas, numerous fruit trees, grassy lawns, pool, hot tub and BBQs inspire outdoor living at Black Mountain! The main area of outdoor activity is around the pool and Pool House. There are multiple BBQ options, including a gas grill and a built-in charcoal grill. The covered BBQ patio extends to the pool, which has a safety cover, and along the front side of the Pool House. At the far end of the patio is a 6-person spa.The lawn and stage area to the side of the wisteria covered lounge area are another great place for guests to hang out. There are 4 flat screen TVs throughout the house. The master bedroom and living room TVs are equipped with Hulu, HBO, Netflix, Amazon FireStick and surround sound. The rec room TV has cable and DVD/VHS players. And there’s a record player (with a selection of vinyl records) integrated with the Sonos sound system. You can just as easily plug in your preferred device with the provided AUX cable. Stairs: Jade House is a multilevel property with several levels of decks and yard. There are 36 stairs from the driveway to the front door and 38 stairs to the back door. There are exterior stairs (only) between the main living areas upstairs and the rec room downstairs. Please look through the photos if stairs are a concern. Pet Friendly: This home welcomes 1 well-mannered dog. If you have more than 1 dogs or other types of pets, please contact us to see if exceptions can be made before reserving. Sound carries more than you may expect and neighbors are sensitive to barking dogs. Fencing: Most of the property is not fenced, but there is a gate and fence along the river side of the property and the two sides. There is no fencing along the street side of the property. Docks, Boats, and River Access: These are seasonal amenities and only available when conditions allow. Expect docks, boats, and river access when the summer dams are in (mid-June to mid- September).
