There is a set of automated “ladder-stairs” between the upper and lower levels that you are welcome to use or there are stairs around the front and back of the house. The paths, stairs, and bridge to the creek are many and varied - please use caution. Fencing: Most of the property is not fenced, but the yard closest to the lower unit is enclosed with gates at either side of the yard. Seasonal Creek: The water level in Ward Creek varies seasonally. Some years we see deep spots to splash about in the summer and some years they are mostly dry. With heavy rainfall in the winter, it may not be safe to play in the creek. Please use caution. Johnson’s Beach is the closest commercial river beach, a short 1.6-mile drive, and all around fabulous place to enjoy the river, rent boats, inner tubes, beach umbrellas, and grab a beer and bite to eat - when they are open for the season. Otherwise, you can wander the beach, but the boats and concession stand will not be available. Dogs are not allowed at Johnson’s Beach when they are open for the season. Nearest Ocean Beach: There are many ocean beaches along the Sonoma coast, but one of the closest is Goat Rock State Beach just south of Jenner – 15 miles from the house. One of the beaches at Goat Rock is dog friendly. Distance to Downtown Guerneville: 1.7 mi by car, 1.6 if you use the historic walking bridge. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park in the driveway and the spot in front of the fence and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Stairs: There are interior stairs from the entry area to the main living areas (bedrooms, kitchen, living room) and exterior stairs from the back deck to the backyard. Pet Friendly: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at Camp Ciyole. Fencing: The backyard is fully fenced. A Note About TVs: The living room and each bedroom has a TV with cable (125+ channels) and one bedroom has a Roku. Additional Amenities: The game room includes a pool table and darts and is located downstairs. Many beach/river items are available for guest use. Common Amenities not included: This home does not have air conditioning. Boats and River Access: These are seasonal amenities and only available when conditions allow. Expect boats when the summer dams are in (mid-June to mid- September). River access at Camp Ciyole is generally good spring through fall, but conditions vary from year to year and can change rapidly – use your best judgement to determine your risk level and comfort in the water/physical activity. There are 2 sit-on-top kayaks, available for use mid-June through September, with paddles and life vests in the garage. Proximity to wineries: There are tasting rooms and a delightful wine bar in downtown Guerneville – approx. 1 mile – and more vineyards than you can visit within 10 miles. One of our favorite routes is along Westside Road which is approx. 5 miles from the house. Nearest River Beach: Camp Ciyole is just around the corner from the Russian River – less than 5-minute walk.
