This lovely Georgian building houses our spacious two bed apartment which is located towards the bottom of Micklegate opposite St Martins church, and within a short walk of everything in York. The apartment is on the first floor, with a large airy open living/dining/kitchen room.  The two double bedrooms are well proportioned and furnished and benefit from secondary glazing to ensure a good nights sleep on this lively street. Well furnished throughout with everything you will need for a short break or a long stay in our beautiful city. Micklegate is the main entrance into this walled City, and has a fantastic range of independent hospitality businesses, such as Partisan Bistro and Skosh to name a few amazing highlights.  York is full of great pubs, winebars and restaurants, but there are a great selection right on your doorstep. There is an allocated car park space behind the building included with the apartment, but the York train station is also only 5 minutes walk away, and the local council run car parks are good value, with the closest also only 5 minutes away.

This fabulous property right in the heart of York city centre is just minutes away from any of the main attractions and shopping streets.  The property has commanding views down Petergate, with glimpses of the Minster from rear windows at the top of the property. Accommodating up to 8 people in four bedrooms, the property is accessed from street level off Low Petergate, with an entrance hall and utility storage at ground level - perfect for bikes and push chairs.  An interesting Escher-like staircase layout takes you up to the first floor with spacious living room and a separate large dining room for formal dining.  There is a separate kitchen which also has a small seating area. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and comprise; 2nd floor - large double bedroom, and smaller double bedroom with family bathroom on the landing with a shower over a bath, and 3rd floor - large bedroom with 3 single beds (or can be configured as a single and SuperKing) and smaller room with a large single, with bathroom on the landing which includes a shower unit. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, washing machine and dishwasher, toaster, microwave and kettle.  The fridge is a full height fridge/freezer. The property is spacious and well equipped and also secondary glazed, so you can enjoy the city centre location and views without any of the  disturbance.  Open the windows slightly and enjoy the sound of hustle and bustle and local street musicians. This is an historic timber framed building dating back to the 1500s, with fantastic detailing. The property is spread out over 3 floors above the antique shop, with a small yard at the rear to sit out in. Come and enjoy a stay in YORK in this wonderful medieval property. Spread out over 3 floors, with a large kitchen dining room, 3 bedrooms (two doubles and a twin) with a bathroom/shower-room on each floor and an amazing beamed living room in the attic with leather chairs and beanbags. You will have access to the whole property - step through the front door on Micklegate, and step back in time, with a stone flagged hallway that leads to the back yard, with the apartment door providing access to the 1st floor - explore and enjoy Micklegate is within the York city walls, and is the original main access to this city. The street is a lively street with a number of popular bars and excellent restaurants, and a great place to start your visit to York. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station, and with a long term carpark a few minutes walk away. This is a very old timber property, with uneven stairs and floors, and low ceilings and doorways - please be careful when walking around the house and mind your head when climbing the stairs. Micklegate is a busy vibrant street filled with bars and restaurants all situated inside the city walls.

The rear sitting room looks over the beautiful enclosed rear garden.  The beautiful central staircase is quite a feature in it’s own right, and leads up to the larger first floor sitting room spanning the full width of the house with a large flat screen TV with surround sound and ample seating for everyone to enjoy time together.  At the rear of the first floor is the master suite with an emperor sized bed (a super super-king) and large en-suite shower room. Moving up to the top floor of the house you will find a further 3 generous sized bedrooms and the family bathroom. Downstairs on the lower Ground Floor is the well appointed kitchen, and a generous sized dining room - a fantastic space to entertain. The whole house is beautifully decorated throughout and a brilliant flexible space for a group of friends or family to base themselves whilst visiting York. NOTE:  The top bedroom with twin beds, are zip and link, so these will be set up as two singe beds, but you can request this to be set up as a super-king. This wonderful historic property on Chapter House Street, next to the Minster, has amazing views of the Minster and the gardens of the Treasurer’s House.  Tucked away on the corner of a quiet cobbled lane behind St Williams College and right next to the Minster, this property is very well located to take advantage of a central location in the City with vehicle access (but no parking available). The house will sleep up to  7+ guests in three generously sized bedrooms; Bedrooms 1 - Kingsize bed with a single day bed, Bedroom 2 - French antique double bed, Bedroom 3 - Twin beds (with zip and link as a Super King - please confirm your preference when you book). There is also a surprise "Harry Potter" style under-stairs single as a special themed treat or snug retreat. There is a large living room and a dark wood paneled dining room, a large kitchen with kitchen island and separate breakfast table - each of these rooms have amazing views which we have included in the images.  Next to the kitchen is a separate utility room with washing machine and pantry storage.  On the ground floor is a games room with a pool table and a toilet with shower unit. Chapter House is close to the Minster and around the corner from Minster Yard, and a few minutes from Petergate and the main city centre.  There is no outside seating with the property, but you can walk around the corner and sit out in the area in front of St William College on the picnic tables provided ,with excellent coffee shops close by to kick start your day. This fantastic town house is located right in the heart of York city centre, on a quiet street, so you have the best of both worlds - easy access to everything in our historic city with peace and quiet when you want it. This is a beautifully renovated Georgian property in the heart of York, close to all the attractions and the historic city centre. Georgian properties are all about the windows, and this house is no exception, with fantastic light - we’ve also selected beautiful roman blinds to compliment. The house comes with one parking permit for nearby on street parking, and there is plenty of alternative parking in York for additional cars. Better still, the house is only a 20 minute walk from the station Spread out over four floors, the property has a large living room and kitchen/dining room on the ground floor, with access to an small yard-garden with outside seating and a ground floor toilet. There is a snug in the basement with TV and Sega Megadrive retro games console. The master bedroom is located on the 1st floor, with a smaller double room and the main family bathroom which has a shower over the bath. The twin bedroom and larger double bedroom with small ensuite shower room are on the top floor. Outside on the street there is a parking permit facility for one car. Any additional cars can be parked close by in a choice of carpark facilities. You are booking for the use of the whole house. From the house, everything in the City Centre is only a short walk away - a fantastic location to explore this historic city. 7 Monk Bar Court is a lovely little house, tucked away within the City Walls of York, in a quiet lane that backs right on to the City Walls. Only a short walk to the Minster and anywhere else in the centre of York. Following directions from the York Train Station will sound more like a guided tour of York, but the fact that the house is tucked away down a little historic lane ensures that you will have a quiet undisturbed nights sleep. Situated on Monk Bar Court, which is a small lane off Goodramgate, the lane used to be known as Elbow Lane. In 1575 all householders in the city were required to keep the street in front of their properties clean and swept of dust, dirt, rubbish, animal droppings and anything else that stopped the road looking neat. These "sweepings" were taken to the nearest "midden", which for the inhabitants of Monk ward at that time was in a garden in Elbow Lane owned by Thomas Barker. Today you can enjoy peace and quiet in this lovely little back lane without any risk of someone dumping their sweepings in your yard! The property has a delightful open living room that leads on to a well fitted kitchen and dining area. All the mod-cons you might need including WiFi. Upstairs is a surprisingly spacious double bedroom with plenty of storage, and a lovely shower room that has a luxurious feel about it. York is a beautiful historic city, which is small enough to get around easily on foot to explore its historic streets and buildings and pop in to one of its many pubs and restaurants. York is best enjoyed on foot, as most of the city centre is closed to traffic during the day. Driving to York From the M1, or A1, follow signs for A64 York. On the A64, following this towards York and take the A1036 into York, which passes the York Race Course on your right. Keep driving until you see the stone gate Micklegate in front of you and turn left using the inner ring road to follow around to Lord Mayors Walk and the Monk Bar Carpark (YO31 7QR) Parking The best parking for Goodramgate will be the City of York car park called Monk Bar Carpark (YO31 7QR), which is off Lord Mayors Walk. From here back to Goodramgate and the house is a quick few minutes walk. All day parking costs £12.50 pay and display. Train – from the train station. You can get a taxi from outside the station and simply ask to be dropped off on Goodramgate at the Monk Bar end, or if the weather is nice you can take a stunning walk through York – the house will be about a 15-20 minute gentle walk, but no doubt your attention will wander and may well take longer. From the station, turn left outside the station and head into York, following the pavement under the arch which spans the road and over Lendal Bridge – you will see the Minster ahead of you. Follow the road straight towards the Minster (Museum Street then Duncombe Place) and pass the right hand side of the Minster and follow this road (Deangate) which takes you right onto Goodramgate – head towards the Monk Bar gate and Monk Bar Court (the lane through the arch) will be on your left before the gate. Just a quick tip when people give you directions: Goodramgate (the gate at the end of the name means street) Monk Bar (the word Bar here refers to Gate)

The closest train station to Tollerton can be found in Poppleton, nine miles away. From here, there are direct routes to Harrogate, Horsforth, Knaresborough, Leeds and York. One bus route can be found running through Tollerton. Hop on the 30 to visit Thirsk and York, as well as a number of North Yorkshire villages. The closest airport to Tollerton is Leeds Bradford Intenational, 35 miles away from the village.
