The Brick House & Annexe holds a fabulous location nestled within the New Forest National Park in a privileged position on the very edge of the privately owned Beaulieu River. The home makes a wonderful option for those searching for a truly relaxing escape, being ideally based for those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors, whether that be on foot, by bike or even by indulging in some water based activities. The former brickworks possess endless charm and character while still offering guests all the modern amenities possibly needed for a more than comfortable stay. The Brick House can comfortably sleep up to eight guests across five well-appointed bedrooms, while the Annexe can comfortably accommodate an additional four guests, however the sleeping arrangements are best suited to a small family of two adults and two young children. On the ground floor of the The Brick House is the main living accommodation which comprises of a warm and welcoming living and dining area with a cosy wood burner, the perfect place to snuggle up in the evenings as well as a snug and TV room. Also on this level is the kitchen, fully equipped with an Aga and all the tools a budding chef could possibly need. Upstairs on the first floor are the five bedrooms, two king-size double rooms, one of which can be set up with twin beds on request, while both come complete with en-suite bathrooms. There is also an additional double bedroom and two single rooms, each with raised high level beds making them suitable for children aged seven and above. These bedrooms share the use of the family bathroom. On the ground floor of the Annexe is a bright and open-plan entertaining space with living and dining area as well as a fully-equipped contemporary kitchen. Nestled in the ancient North Ridge of The New Forest National Park, Stable Cottage at High Forest Cottages provides a peaceful hideway to relax and enjoy the unique beauty of the forest. Situated within the forest boundary, inside the cattle grid areas, our regular visitors include the famous ponies and cattle that make the forest such a stunning wildlife environment. Whilst deer are a rare sight, we often welcome a small herd into the paddocks to enjoy some free grazing! The beautiful and spacious open plan living area is perfect for family and friends to relax. Heated by underfloor heating with the addition of a log burner, ensures it is cosy whatever the weather. A basket of wood and kindling is provided for you and you can top this up from the log store throughout your stay. One of the sofas turns into an extra double bed with storage underneath for bedding. The large Smart TV is connected to the free WiFi so you can log in to your own Netflix and Amazon accounts. A Blu-Ray player is also available if you fancy watching an old school movie. The kitchen is well-equipped and you can easily cook a Sunday roast if you fancy. There are plenty of  pans and dishes, an oven with grill and electric hob. The large fridge/freezer, plenty of storage space and the dishwasher give you that home from home feeling. Dishwasher tablets as well as washing up liquid and tea towels are available for your use. Milk, tea, sugar and ground coffee together with a cafetiere are provided so you can settle in as soon as you arrive. The dining table with seating for six will facilitate those all important dinner conversations. Both bedrooms can either be made up as a superking sized bed or two single beds. All beds are made up with luxury cotton sheets, a 10 tog microfibre duvet and two microfibre pillows per person. Both rooms have an open wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, a large mirror and hair dryer. For your comfort, all bedrooms are fitted with ceiling fans, ensuring a cool and relaxing stay. The shower room features a large walk in shower, sink with mirror over and toilet. Lovely fluffy white towels and face cloths are provided for your stay. A lovely large patio garden, enclosed by a 4ft high fence and hedge is the perfect spot for a morning coffee or a lazy afternoon. In the evenings you can light the BBQ for some alfresco dining and the outside lighting extends your evenings after sunset. Parking for three cars is available. The shared laundry with washing machine and dryer is available should you need it. Having twins ourselves we understand how a few extra touches can make travelling with small children a lot easier. We can provide travel cots, high chairs, a baby bath and bottle steriliser for you. As standard there are some toys, books and games, as well as plastic plates, cups and cutlery available in our cottages. If there is anything else we can provide please do ask. Stable Cottage is self-contained and all on one level. It has a private garden with seating area and parking for at least three cars. Guests will have access to a shared guest laundry with washing machine and dryer. There is a log store to stock your log basket just in case you run out! We provide a contact free check in through key lock boxes. On the day of arrival we will send the code and location of the key lock box to you. We live on site so will be available if you have any questions. We would love to welcome you to Stable Cottage at High Forest Cottages. We have four cottages in total and welcome larger family or friend groups wishing to use multiple cottages for a special event or annual holiday together. We are pretty much in the middle of nowhere, with only a small holding as neighbours. Cross the road and you will find open heathland, forested areas, small rivers and plenty of wildlife. There are lovely paths to explore for an early evening stroll or a proper hike. You can bring your bikes or hire them locally and explore the extensive off road cycle network in the Forest. Road cycling is very popular too and there are regular races held. There are plenty of pubs nearby which serve good food and serve good beer. There is a little village shop 2 miles away, and bigger supermarkets a little further away. You are more than welcome to get online shopping delivered after your arrival. You are most likely driving to the accommodation, although a taxi from Salisbury, Brockenhurst or Southampton stations is an option. A popular option is to cycle from the property, so feel free to bring your bikes. Alternatively, you can hire bikes from a number of locations in and around the forest, and many will deliver to your property. And, of course, there is walking directly from your doorstep, with miles of forest and heath to explore. There is an additional charge of £25 per stay for up to two dogs. We have often accommodated more than two dogs and please get in touch prior to booking to discuss your pack! For the enjoyment of all our guests, with and without dogs, we ask you to adhere to the following: - dogs must never be left unattended, the security deposit is forfeited if found in breach of this; - in Stable Cottage dogs are allowed everywhere in the cottage, however please keep dogs off the bed. Stepping inside, fine quality furnishings and stylish pendant lighting can be found throughout to create a space which feels both homely and contemporary. Within the generous open plan living room and kitchen, there is ample space for formal dining and relaxing on sofas; one of which is a comfortable double sofa bed. During the summer months, you can spill outside through three sets of bi-folding doors which seamlessly link the house to the decking for drinks and dining alfresco. For evenings in, a flat screen TV with sound system and complementary WiFi is in place for streaming movies - although there is plenty to entertain you nearby. If you’re cooking for family or friends, the kitchen is well-equipped with every appliance you could need to whip up a delicious meal and the wine fridge awaits your Chablis or local English sparkling wines purchased from any one of the local vineyards. There is a good range of crockery, glassware, cutlery, cooking utensils and pans, plus tea, coffee and milk will also be provided. There are three comfortable double bedrooms; one with king bed, one double and one twin, all dressed in quality white linens. All have built-in clothes and shoe storage, and each bed has a deep hybrid mattress with plump pillows.
