This cottage is a characterful property in a stunning, rural location surrounded by farm fields and with access to a private lake. The beautiful country views make for a relaxing break while the walled garden is perfect for those wanting to bring a dog. Hiking, cycling and nature enthusiasts will all find this home the ideal holiday spot at any time of the year. Guests step in to the kitchen with a handy adjoining utility room which is the perfect place to leave the coats and wellies after a long country walk. The kitchen is well-stocked for a self-catering stay with all the equipment and amenities to cook up a feast. It has the added advantage of a dishwasher and a washing machine/tumble dryer too. The large dining room (seats six) and living rooms are downstairs along with the shower room and WC. The living room has a large log burner which will guests will enjoy in the cooler autumn and winter evenings. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are both found upstairs. Please note that the staircase is rather steep so may not be suitable for anyone with restricted mobility. The master bedroom has a kingsized bed whilst the second bedroom is a twin with the beds nestled in the eaves. The family bathroom can also be found upstairs. All rooms enjoy countryside views from the windows. Outside, the lawned garden is enclosed and there is a patio area with table, chairs and a BBQ (gas provided). This cottage also has the incredible bonus of its own private lake - just a short walk from the cottage. The short walk from the cottage is down a grassy lane, so not in the immediate vicinity to be a worry around small children - although, they should be supervised at all times. The beautiful and impressively spacious living room has a feature fireplace housing an attractive wood burner, with period plate shelving around all the walls, used as storage for books. This is a delightful room and the hub of the home. The individually designed, bespoke country kitchen has been custom made by a local kitchen maker and has granite and solid wood worktops as well as a large island and butler sink. A fabulous wide central staircase with polished timber handrails leads to the first-floor landing with two skylights providing oodles of natural light and the exposed beams accentuate the historic nature of this gorgeous home.
