This area is conveniently located near some of Lake Garda’s most popular towns and villages, like Salò, a spot that has the charm and tranquillity of a small village, with the amenities of a town. It also has one of the longest promenades along Lake Garda, so it’s a wonderful spot to explore. Slightly further afield, around an hour’s drive away (or boat ride!), is Sirmione, (40km away) a must visit spot around the lake that is renowned for thermal baths and the stunning Rocca Scaligera, a must-see medieval castle overlooking the lake. The port in Toscolano Maderno is a stop-off point for boats going all around the lake. On the water visitors can swim, fish, canoe, sail, windsurf and dive. Whilst on land, Toscolano Maderno’s lakefront is a glorious place to walk at any time of day. Away from the lake, there are hiking and mountain bike routes through scenic countryside, horse riding (15 minutes) and a golf course (8 minutes). The town of Toscolano Maderno (15 minutes) is packed with things to see. For self-catering, the weekly market (Thursday morning) provides delicious local produce to cook at home. Lovers of art and history can visit the famous "Vittoriale degli Italiani" home of Gabriele D’Annunzio in Gardone Riviera (20 minutes) and the new Salò museum called "MU SA” (25 minutes).
