Payment and Cancellation - 30 Day Policy

Grace Period:

  • Guests may cancel for free provided that: (1) reservation is canceled within 48-hours of reservation request, and (2) reservation request was made at least 10 days before arrival.

Payment Policy:

  • 30 days or less prior to arrival: Guests pay 100% at time of reservation.
  • More than 30 days before arrival: Guests pay 50% at time of reservation, the remaining 50% will be charged 30 days prior to arrival.
  • For guests paying with points: 100% of payment will be deducted at time of reservation, once booking is verified within 48 hours.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 30 days or less prior to arrival: No refund issued, unless ‘Grace Period’ applies.
  • More than 30 days before arrival: 100% refund.
  • On select bookings made after May 6th, 2020 with a check-out date on or before June 30, 2021*, guests may cancel up to 10 days before arrival and receive a full refund minus a $75 cancellation fee. *Exclusion and Blackout dates apply. Stays taking place between December 20, 2020 and January 3, 2021 do not qualify for 10-day cancellation. Some individual homes may not be participating as noted in their individual Property Display Page.

House Rules

  • By booking this reservation, you agree to the additional policies, terms, and conditions below.
  • - Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.
  • - 2 dog(s) are welcome in this home. No other animals are allowed without specific Vacasa approval.
  • - The property shall not be used by more than the number of adults and children listed in your reservation.
  • - All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
  • - If early check-in is available for your reservation, you will be notified by 9 a.m. on the morning of your arrival by email. Late check-out is offered whenever possible for a small fee.
  • - No smoking of any kind is permitted anywhere on the premises.
  • - No commercial photography or filming is permitted on the property. Tents or other structures may not be erected.
  • - Renter is liable for any damage to the property and agrees to accept charges to the card on file should damage occur during occupancy.

  • - Due to local laws, regulations, or Homeowner Association rules, guests may be required to agree to additional terms of service. A signed paper contract is required to be completed and returned to Vacasa.
  • - Property Specific terms:
  • IMPORTANT: This door will lock behind you automatically.
  • PLEASE make sure that the keys to the house are with you.
  • Best practice - Upon opening the front door, immediately place keys back in the lock box.
  • GARDEN ROOM FRENCH DOORS – (Located off of dining room)
  • This door needs to be bolted at top and bottom.
  • Even with deadbolt, doors can blow open in heavy wind, unless bolted at top and bottom.
  • To Operate This Door: (IT IS DIFFERENT)
  • Do not open door unless absolutely necessary…
  • To Unlock:
  • Turn Thumb-turn ¼ turn COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. Then push down on the lever.
  • To Lock:
  • Close door tightly.
  • LIFT UP on lever handle to engage deadbolts on edge, top, and bottom of door.
  • After deadbolts are extended, ONLY then can you turn thumb-turn ¼ turn CLOCKWISE to lock the door.
  • VERY IMPORTANT - Thumb Turn does NOT operate deadbolt like a normal door!
  • NEVER force thumb-turn!!
  • It has a plastic piece that is easily broken when too much force applied.
  • If it does not turn freely, deadbolts are not set properly.
  • If thumb-turn turns 360 degrees, it is now BROKEN.
  • Key from outside should still work properly, if thumb-turn on the inside does not.
  • To Note:
  • If directions NOT followed, will cause door hardware malfunction and require entire door to be replaced at a cost of $12,000 and not be received for 5-8 weeks from Europe.
  • 1. All kitchen items in the main house kitchen should be kept and maintained in the main house – cutlery, plates, stemware, kitchen utensils, towels, etc. The BBQ Pavilion has its own pots and pans.
  • 2. Additional stemware and other serving items and décor, are located in the Entertainment Pantry. The Entertainment Pantry is located on the East Hallway, 1st door on the left.
  • 3. Dishwashers - please ONLY utilize the available dishwasher soap located under the kitchen sink.
  • 4. The State of Wisconsin requires trash to be separated. To the left of the sink, is a pull-out with 2 garbage cans. Please place wet trash in the front garbage can and dry/recyclable trash in the back garbage can.
  • 5. To Note: Should you utilize the warming drawer, PLEASE make sure it is turned off immediately after use.
  • 1. The living room offers a bar; refrigerator/ice maker. Please remember the floor is carpeted.
  • 2. The large round wood table is perfect for card games. We ask that you always utilize the coasters for any and all hot or cold drinks. Please avoid placing anything hot directly on the wood.
  • 3. IMPORTANT – Please try and avoid utilizing the Living Room door leading to the outside. Exceptionally important that one reads the directions of operation of the door, prior to opening.
  • 1. The lights Primary Light Switch for the first floor, is located at the bottom of the stairs. Just tap the top button, and the lights will turn on. Lights can be adjusted for brightness from there.
  • 2. Located on the lower level, the family/game room also provides a bar area with sink, icemaker, refrigerator, and stemware.
  • 3. GameBoy and PlayStation are in the cabinet under the window.
  • 4. Card games are in the tall cabinet as you enter the bar area.
  • 5. The overhead pool table light needs to be turned on at the wall.
  • 1. This is a non-smoking home. Please be mindful of the health and medical needs of others.
  • 2. Cigarette/vaping/cigars are not allowed to be smoked in the home, garage, BBQ pavilion, hot tub, or front porch.
  • 3. Cigarette butts and/or smoking accessories are to be disposed in the metal garbage can, located in the garage.
  • 1. Please feel free to use dresser drawers and closet.
  • Note: the closet light turns on and off automatically by opening or shutting the closet door.
  • 2. Feel free to open the windows if you wish. Please close them during high wind, rain, or snow.
  • 3. Thermostat setting: We will show you how to turn the temperature up or down.
  • - Because we are on a “zoned” system, you may have a temperature in your room that is different from the rest of the house.
  • - Set your thermostat temperature where you want it, and be sure to keep your door closed if you do change the temperature.
  • 4. Hidden shade at the top of the window is operated by the wall button. We will show you how to operate it.
  • 5. Ceiling fan is operated by a wall control.
  • 6. Septic system necessitates that you do NOT put any paper products down the toilet.
  • Note: Please ONLY “septic tank approved” toilet paper is to be disposed in the toilet. Thank you!
  • 7. Lighting is mostly all dimmable, so please make sure to completely shut all lights.
  • 8. As the lighting is mostly all dimmable, some lights allow a quick tap to turn them on and off. If NOT, you may have to hold 1-2 seconds longer (i.e. Primary Guest Bathroom) for the lights to completely go out.
  • GRILL – When Grilling:
  • 1. Please keep all flammable items away from grill.
  • Directions and manual are located in top drawer to the left of grill.
  • 2. Please open all windows when grilling, because smoke will fill the room.
  • Window manual is located in the top drawer to the left of the grill.
  • The windows are a special vinyl material. Please do NOT place hot objects next to them.
  • 3. Please turn grill off, once food is prepared.
  • 4. Utilize ONLY the pots and pans located in the BBQ Grill Pavilion. Pots/Pans will need to be washed in the main house kitchen.
  • 5. During the summer, the sink is connected. IMPORTANT – the Sink is not to be utilized to clean fish, deer, animal guts. ALL garbage and wet food, needs to be disposed of in a wet garbage can (located under the sink). The garbage can and its contents are to be placed in the “wet garbage” container in the garage. Garbage bags are located in the drawers to the left of the grill.
  • 6. GAS shut off valve is located behind the grill.
  • HEATER –
  • 1. Grill usage will heat the entire pavilion.
  • 2. If grill is NOT heating entire pavilion, the overhead heater directions, manual and remote control, are in the top drawer to the left of the grill.
  • 3. PLEASE turn heater off upon leaving the BBQ pavilion.
  • 1. Light switches located to the Left, upon entering the BBQ pavilion.
  • 2. You are able to control the lighting to the inside chandelier, spa walkway, and down-lighting to steps of fire pit.
  • 1. The BBQ Pavilion television power cable will be provided by your VACASA representative.
  • 2. The television will not be operable during the winter season.
  • 1. Windows can be pushed up to open and will HOLD at the level desired.
  • 2. Windows are made of a special product that can melt, please do not place hot items near the windows.
  • 3. Please slide windows open when grilling, so that any smoke generated leaves the pavilion.
  • The BBQ Pavilion is smoke free. Please do not smoke as the scent will embed itself to the structure.
  • Please do not leave food/trash outside that can attract or endanger wildlife.
  • 1. The KEY for accessing the hot tub via the Covana lid, is provided to the Primary Guest, who has acknowledged acceptance of responsibility for utilization of the hot tub.
  • 2. The Covana hot tub lid is opened/raised via the Garden Room (screened in porch off of dining room).
  • 3. To the Left of the exterior Garden Room door, is a box which requires the Covana key to be inserted.
  • 4. To OPEN and raise the Covana hot tub lid, turn the key to the Right.
  • 5. One may view the height of the Covana lid by looking out the door window to the right of the BBQ pavilion.
  • 6. To CLOSE and lower the Covana hot tub lid, turn the key to the Left.
  • 7. VERY IMPORTANT – Please make sure everyone is out of the hot tub, before lowering the Covana hot tub lid.
  • Guests are encouraged to experience the great Wisconsin outdoors, and are provided with tents to do so.
  • Inflatable and non-inflatable mattresses, along with the inflatable machine, are also available for guests to utilize.
  • Tents/Mattresses can be located in the large cabinets of the main garage.
  • Flashlights can be located in the left mud room cabinets.
  • Guests may find outdoor seating for the beach area, in the large cabinets of the main garage.
  • Please do not leave beach seating outdoors. Please place utilized seating inside the main garage.
  • VACASA staff will clean and place outdoor seating in their proper place.
  • Exceptionally important that every adult and child utilize life preservers while swimming or performing water sports.
  • Life preservers are organized by age and weight, and are located in the large cabinet within the main garage.
  • All life preservers/water safety equipment are tracked and it is requested that guests please notify the VACASA Representative immediately, if any piece of safety equipment is damaged or not working properly, so that it can be replaced. Life preservers are located on the right hand side of the large cabinets, within the main garage.
  • All Kayaks are available for the use by guests.
  • It is requested that life preservers always be worn when utilizing the kayaks.
  • Children require an adult supervision at all times, when utilizing kayaks.
  • Please carry kayaks (avoid dragging on ground) and place on kayak rack with larger kayaks on the bottom.
  • It is requested that VACASA staff be notified if any equipment is damaged or goes missing.
  • Children are the heart and soul of any family vacation.
  • Therefore, a diverse myriad of toys for different ages, can be found in the large cabinets of the main garage.
  • Firewood for the fire pit is located next to the exterior wall of the garage and under an overhang, to keep it dry.
  • Flashlights - At times, electricity can go out and the backup generator should fire up. Flashlights are available in the mud room cabinets on the left.
  • Sunscreen/Insect Repellent - are provided for guests and located in the mud room cabinets on the left.
  • Safety - Natural wildlife is always present and it is requested that any child be accompanied at all times by an adult/guardian, while outdoors.
  • Welcome to a fabulous pet-cation…
  • For your own comfort and for the comfort and safety of the homeowners and other guests, there are a couple simple guidelines which apply to pet(s).
  • Guests are asked to please respect future guests and for this reason, we ask that you please follow these guidelines during your stay at Maison Du Lac:
  • Safety
  • • All local laws and regulations must be followed. Please, observe leash laws and do not bring your pet to parks and areas that do not allow animals.
  • • Only two pet dogs are allowed and must be owned by those renting Maison Du Lac. Any other pets, not part of the renting party/rental agreement, are not allowed on the property.
  • • Guests must keep their dog(s) under control at all times and agree to adhere to local ordinances, leash laws and licensing requirements.
  • • Any dog with a recorded history of biting or aggressive behavior is strictly prohibited. This includes: any dog with any tendency or disposition to attack another dog, other domestic animals, or humans without provocation.
  • • As pets are by nature genuinely inquisitive, please remember that this is the Northwoods. Being new to the area, pets may not be acquainted with local wild life: bears, skunks, and deer. With that in mind, please never leave your dog unattended.
  • • Neighborhood dogs are always walked on a leash and rarely venture out of their own yards.
  • • If your pet is prone to wandering, best to keep them close and secured.
  • • Should you need to leave them alone, a crate is ideal for those situations, as you are responsible for any damages your pet/s may cause.
  • Medical
  • • Please ensure that your dog’s medications and immunizations (Rabies) are up-to-date prior to your stay, especially flea treatment.
  • • All pets should be treated with Advantage or similar topical flea and tick repellent three (3) days prior to arrival. Fleas and ticks are very rampant in this area and can cause harmful/fatal illness to humans and pets and we wish to protect all family members. This is the sole responsibility of the pet owner.
  • • Should your pet walk through the woods, please be vigilant and always check for ticks (deer and wood ticks) prior to entering the residence. Lyme Disease is present in Wisconsin.
  • Respectful Environment
  • • Guests agree to clean up after their dog(s) and dispose of their pet(s’) waste promptly from both public areas and the yard of Maison Du Lac. Dog bags are provided in the mud room, first closet to the left. Dog bags should be tightly closed and placed in the garbage can which is located inside the garage.
  • • Sound carries very easily across the lake and can disrupt the calm beauty for surrounding neighbors. We need to respect the comfort and privacy of local residents, so please do not allow your dog(s) to bark excessively or to roam onto neighboring properties.
  • • While many pets are allowed on furniture and beds at their own home, we request that pets refrain from these activities and instead utilize the pet mats, provided to you and located in the Mudroom, second closet to the right. Our pet mats have the covers laundered and changed for each new canine guest. We also provide clean and laundered pet bowls, pet towels, and pet sheets for your convenience. However, it is always helpful to bring something familiar (bed, blanket, etc.) on which your pet will be comfortable sleeping, so please feel free to bring and incorporate any preferred kennel or special bedding your pet enjoys, as we wish to provide a wonderful and comfortable “pet-cation” for this special family member.
  • • In consideration of other guests, it is encouraged that pets be groomed prior to their stay, particularly if it is a breed prone to shedding. Pet hair can be difficult to remove, and the next renter may not have a pet. Pet owners will be responsible for any damages, as well as additional cleaning or treatment needs, due to fleas or “accidents.”
  • Other
  • • The lake is beautiful and enticing to dogs, so we ask that you do your best to clean and dry your dog(s) in the garage after a swim or walk; this will help ensure that no additional cleaning fee(s) are necessary, due to pet related messes (ie: paw prints and mud on carpet).
  • • White bathroom, beach, and kitchen towels, are not to be utilized to wash or dry pets.
  • • No personal pet beds or other such items should ever be placed in the washer or dryer.
  • • Pet(s) are restricted from utilizing the hot tub or bathing in any of the bathrooms. Pet(s) can be rinsed off outside with fresh water via the rolled up water hoses at the front and back of the house. Additionally, Three Lakes has an established pet groomer, offering pet bathing services. We would be happy to help you coordinate an appointment, especially if an introduction with a skunk goes awry! The “Three Lakes Pet Parlor” number is 414-745-9155.
  • • The owners of Maison Du Lac are not responsible for guests’ dog(s) and will not cover damage to the property or grounds resulting from a dog(s), including but not limited to: chewing, scratching, digging, and unreported housetraining accidents.
  • • Repairs to porch screening will be assessed at labor charges for rescreening if your dog(s) break through the screen for any reason.
  • • Guests agree to pay agents promptly for any damage, loss or expense, caused by their pet(s).
  • • Finally, please review the Vacasa contract pertaining to any immunization requirements, incurred damages, reported/not reported, during your stay.
  • We look forward to providing your pet a family “pet-cation” to remember.
  • FIRE PLACE - Gas Supply for gas log is located in the Living Room under the fireplace mantel (brass knob).
  • To Note: The living room gas fireplace shut off valve is located in the bonus room (bunk room on the lower level).
  • While facing the hallway from inside the bunk room, please locate the gas shut off valve by removing the ceiling tile to the left of the entrance.
  • GRILL – Outdoor BBQ Pavilion
  • Please keep all flammable items away from grill.
  • Directions and manual are located in top drawer to the left of grill.
  • GAS shut off valve is located behind the grill.
  • MAIN Gas Shut Off for entire house and outside BBQ Grill, is located outside near the garage (Lake-side underneath the laundry room window.)
  • 1. LIFT off the hook
  • 2. Break YELLOW plastic band (breaks easily)
  • 3. PULL pin all the way out.
  • 4. Fire Extinguisher is now READY to use
  • 5. PRESS lever on top
  • 6. AIM at base of fire
  • 7. Stay 8 feet from fire
  • Doing laundry is very hard on the septic system. Please do no more than 2 loads per day, less if possible.
  • Do not worry about washing your sheets and towels at the end of your stay. We will take care of them.
  • Please leave towels hanging to dry in the bathrooms.
  • Thank you!
  • PLEASE – No Kleenex, personal products, wipes, etc in the toilet.
