Located just across the California-Oregon border on the Harbor ’bench,’ this home is just minutes south of Brookings, which is often referred to as the ’banana belt’ of the Oregon Coast. If activity is your goal, you can shop, fish, golf, hike, bike, or walk at many nearby sites. McVay State Recreation Area is a short walk down the street and is set up for disc golf as well as offering access to clamming, beach strolls, and agate, shell, and rock hunting. Hundred-year-old azaleas run throughout Brookings’ Azalea Park, just over the bridge that crosses the Chetco, one of Oregon’s wild and scenic rivers. Charter fishing excursions are available at the Port of Brookings-Harbor, still an active fishing port.
