This spectacular oceanfront home has a wonderful historic style, a dog-friendly attitude, amazing location on a clifftop in Depoe Bay, and some of the best whale-watching opportunities you could hope to find! Combined with all the comforts of home and enough space for as many as eight guests, this is the perfect place to plan your next coastal vacation.
Nestled on a hill just on the south side of Depoe Bay, this home is close to the town’s charming restaurants, souvenir shops, Whale Watching Center, and the world’s smallest bay. From the harbor you can launch your own boat or book a spot on one of the whale-watching or deep-sea fishing tours that leave from Depoe Bay. The easiest beach access is less than five minutes north by car at Fogarty Creek, though you could also drive 10 minutes south to the breathtaking Devils Punch Bowl or north 10 minutes to Lincoln Beach and Gleneden Beach. You could even go a little farther north (about 15 minutes) into Lincoln City or take an equally short drive south into Newport.
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this home has plenty of space for up to eight guests (six adults maximum, please), and up to two dogs are even welcome with a small nightly fee. Inside, you will find antiques that complement the historic style of this 1930’s house, as well as plenty of windows that allow gorgeous views of the ocean - look carefully and you can see harbor seals, sea lions, and even an occasional whale!
The main level of the house has a cozy living room with a TV and gas fireplace, a well-stocked full kitchen, a dining area, and a bathroom with a laundry area. One of the bedrooms is also on this level (featuring a queen-size bed) and a sofabed in the living room folds out into extra sleeping space at night.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk-in shower that is accessible both from the hallway and the master bedroom. The first bedroom offers a soft and comfortable queen-size bed, a television, and a lovely balcony that overlooks the town and the ocean. In the master room is a king-size bed, yet another TV, and windows with jaw-dropping views of the sea. If the weather doesn’t cooperate as much as you had hoped, you can always enjoy a nice evening in and take advantage of the many entertainment options provided, including cable TV, a DVD player and selection of movies, WiFi access, board games, and a huge variety of books.
This home is a fantastic place to bring your friends or family and enjoy a vacation spent watching for whales, strolling around charming Depoe Bay, and enjoying each other’s company. In the small town you will find just about everything you may need, though you could also drive up or down the coast to find more activities, state parks, dining options, and much more, so don’t be afraid to explore!
Come stay in this amazing oceanfront home and enjoy a much-deserved relaxing coastal getaway!

About the area
Depoe Bay, Oregon, is a charming coastal town that offers a picturesque setting and a plethora of activities for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Known as the "Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast," Depoe Bay provides visitors with the opportunity to witness gray whales in their natural habitat, particularly during their migration seasons.
The town's snug harbor, claimed to be the world's smallest navigable harbor, is a hub of activity with fishing and whale-watching charters departing regularly. The seawall running along the downtown area allows for up-close views of the ocean and is a perfect spot for those who prefer to stay on land but still want to experience the thrill of spotting marine life.
Depoe Bay's dramatic coastline is a sight to behold, with its rugged cliffs and the famous Spouting Horn, where waves crash into a channel carved by lava flows and shoot water high into the air. This natural spectacle is especially impressive during high tide or stormy weather.
For those interested in the local marine environment, the Whale Watching Center provides educational exhibits and staff to help visitors learn more about the whales and other sea creatures that frequent the area. The center also serves as a prime location for indoor whale watching through panoramic windows.
Beyond whale watching, Depoe Bay is a gateway to outdoor adventures. Nearby state parks, such as Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area and Devil's Punchbowl State Natural Area, offer hiking trails, tide pools, and picnic spots. These areas are excellent for bird watching, tide pooling, and simply enjoying the serene beauty of the Oregon coast.
The town itself exudes a quaint and cozy atmosphere, with a variety of shops, boutiques, and restaurants that showcase local crafts and cuisine. Seafood is a highlight here, with many eateries serving up fresh catches of the day, often with views overlooking the ocean.
Depoe Bay also hosts several events throughout the year, including the annual Depoe Bay Whale Watch Week and the Depoe Bay Salmon Bake, which celebrate the town's rich marine life and cultural heritage.
In essence, Depoe Bay is a destination that offers a unique blend of natural wonders, oceanic adventures, and small-town charm, making it an ideal spot for travelers seeking a tranquil yet engaging coastal experience.
