Berni’s Ocean View Castle - The Potter’s Wheel
Berni’s Castle is a big, beautiful historic landmark on the North Oregon Coast, and this Oceanside vacation rental is part of the sprawling castle. This private apartment used to be Berni’s workshop. Here, you’ll have ocean views from the full kitchen, living room, and out on the balcony for a memorable coast retreat.
You’ll also have use of a common deck with a grill. If you’re renting all of Berni’s Castle or enjoy making a few new friends, the lower deck with grill will be a fun socializing spot.
This beautiful and unique vacation home boasts new paint, furniture, art, and amenities throughout. The living area is full of large, ocean view windows, comfortable furniture, and a TV for evenings spent inside watching cable. There’s also an iPod dock for music, WiFi, and plenty of board games to spread out on the coffee table, as well as a gas fireplace that provides warmth in ambiance only, as it is not reliably functional.
When it’s time for meals, in addition to all of the major appliances, you’ll also have panoramic ocean views from the bright and well-stocked kitchen. There are also a lot of bonus gadgets here like a coffee grinder, blender, and a mixer. You may want to whip up a batch of cookies for after dinner, or start the day with fruit smoothies before heading down to the sand.
In the morning, take your coffee out on the balcony to listen to the ocean and watch the waves roll in. If you feel like a fancy coffee drink, make the 5 minute walk to Brewin’ in the Wind and bring a latte and pastry back to this Oregon Coast vacation rental.
Both bedrooms have queen size beds, one with a vaulted ceiling and a paddle ceiling fan. This Oceanside vacation rental will sleep four guests quite comfortably, with a maximum of five guests. And if you need to do any laundry while on vacation, there’s a private washer and dryer for guest use. And, if you decide to bring your dog pals, there’s an additional fee (two dogs maximum, please).
The sleepy beachside town of Oceanside is popular, yet not normally crowded, with a long stretch of sandy beach and gorgeous views of Three Arch Capes National Wildlife refuge just off the shore. Spend sunny afternoons walking in the sand, flying kites, or just hunting for shells. When you work up an appetite, you’ll want to stop in at Roseanna’s Cafe, a local favorite, for fresh seafood, hearty lunches, or a piece of homemade pie.
If you don’t want to stay put, there are plenty of day trips you can plan in the area. Spend some time at Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge, two and a half miles north in Cape Meares, where you can hike around and take photos of the historic lighthouse. And, just 11 miles east on Highway 101, you can stop by the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory for samples of Oregon-made cheddar and scoops of freshly-made ice cream.
Further north, there’s the galleries of Cannon Beach and to the south, bustling Lincoln City with the Chinook Winds Casino, a large outlet mall, and many glass blowing studios. But really, your most favorite activity may be sitting out on the balcony back at your castle getaway, with a glass of wine or watching a winter storm from the warmth of the living room.
