Berni’s Ocean View Castle - Home Sweet Homestead
A historic coastal landmark, this Oceanside vacation rental, otherwise known as part of Berni’s Castle, is a coastal gem. Once a simple cabin, this vacation home has been lovingly transformed into a stunning beachside getaway!
This beautiful and unique vacation home boasts new paint, furniture, art, and amenities throughout. With architectural design touches like wainscoting, window seats, and large picture windows, your stay here will be filled with ocean views and vintage charm. Settle back into the sectional sofa in the living room for a night of cable on the TV.
A small game room has a collection of puzzles and games, as well as majestic views of the Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge. From the built-in window seat, you can curl up with a good book, or watch out the window for migrating gray whales. The old-fashioned pellet stove adds warmth in aesthetics only, as it can quite finicky and does not function reliably.
The gourmet kitchen boasts custom wood cabinetry and a convenient eating bar. In addition, there’s a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, blender, mixer, and microwave. Dinner at the dining room table will be accompanied by a view of the ocean. Savor a stunning sunset while you finish the last of the wine. Or, if the weather is nice, head out to the deck for panoramic views. Also outside, there’s plenty of room for a crowd if you want to plan an outdoor meal on a warm summer day.
The three bedrooms each have their own style. One has a French country theme and its own private balcony. At night before bed, you can step outside and breathe in some fresh ocean air and in the mornings, there’s no better spot to have a cup of coffee or mug of tea.
The second bedroom has another queen bed and great ocean views, while the the third bedroom has two twin beds. This Oregon Coast vacation rental is also dog-friendly with an additional fee. Six guests can comfortably stay at Berni’s Home Sweet Homestead Castle, with a maximum occupancy of eight allowed.
Other amenities here include WiFi, a private washer and two dryers, a stereo, CD, and iPod dock and a patio. But probably the best amenity of all is the amazing location, just a five-minute walk from Oceanside’s long sandy beach. Fly your kites, beach comb looking for shells, or just spread out a big beach blanket and relax on the sand.
If you work up an appetite, restaurants include Roseanna’s Cafe and Brewin’ in the Wind coffee house - both are walkable right from your house. Farther out, there are more options in Netarts to the south or Tillamook to the east. If you do head in that direction, you should plan a stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory, along Highway 101, for a tour of the factory, cheese samples, and a snack at the Creamery Cafe.
This Oceanside vacation home is conveniently located south of Rockaway Beach and north of bustling Lincoln City. Ideally situated for day trips all along the north Oregon Coast, or just staying put and wandering Oceanside’s long stretch of sand, your whole group will agree that no matter how you spend your time, this is a unique and special coast getaway spot.
