Fragrant roses and a bounty of other flowers greet visitors to this country cottage-style home in Carmel-by-the-Sea! The garden theme carries over into the 2-bedroom, 2-bath residence, decorated with shabby chic furnishings lending it a comfortable ambiance, hardwood floors throughout, and a spacious fully-equipped kitchen that is perfect for entertaining.
The 1,700-square-foot house is just a 10-minute walk from world-famous Carmel Mission, one of the most beautiful in California, and is also a short drive away from Mission Ranch restaurant, owned by Clint Eastwood. Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea is also just a few minutes away by car, offering fine dining, shopping and day spas, and it’s also a 10-minute drive to such attractions as golf at Pebble Beach, the butterfly sanctuary in Pacific Grove, or the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted with complimentary cheese and wine or sparkling cider,tickets for a wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards’ tasting room in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, spa robes and beach gear with everything you need for a day at the beach including chairs, blankets, towels, umbrella and cooler.
Visitors enter underneath a rose-covered arbor to a path that leads to the front door. Once inside, the garden ambiance is reflected in the rose-patterned sofa, carefully chosen antique furnishings, and whimsical décor, and the garden can be seen from the living room and dining room through floor-to-ceiling windows.
In the living room, a pair of leather recliners flank the wood-burning fireplace, an ideal place for conversation or watching the 42-inch HDTV. A small library of local history books is also available.
Outside, a patio offers comfortable outdoor seating and a Weber charcoal grill, the perfect setting for backyard barbecues and enjoying cocktails in the evening. A backyard winds its way beneath a magnificent cypress tree, where a bench offers a spot for reflection and meditation. Lawn area and a wealth of flowers can also be found, with roses, hydrangeas, geraniums and salvia in profusion, as well as maple and live oak trees.
Adjacent to the living room is the kitchen and dining room, which has a glass-topped table with seating for six. The large kitchen features granite countertops, antique white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances including a four-burner Jenn-Aire gas stove, and plenty of counter space. A laundry room with desk area and stacked washer and dryer is just off the kitchen, and is also a passageway to the garage, making it quick and convenient to bring in groceries and other purchases.
On the other side of the house are the bedrooms, including a large master bedroom suite in tones of blue and white, featuring a king bed, an antique rocking chair, a large closet, and painted distressed-look furniture. Access to the garden is available through French doors. The updated ensuite bath includes a deep soaking tub and separate shower, with tile floors and a vanity with limestone countertop. The second bedroom features a king bed with an antique patchwork coverlet. A second bath in the hallway offers a shower, tile floors and vanity with limestone countertop.
Parking for one vehicle in the garage and two other cars can be parked in the driveway. Additional parking can be found on the street. Small, well-behaved dogs under 20lbs may be allowed with Owner approval and additional dog fee.
