Park your car in the garage of this colorful Victorian, and walk to every Pacific Grove attraction from this ideal location right in the heart of town. Dining, shopping, the beach and the Monterey Recreational Trail just steps away.
Built in 1916, the home was recently renovated to offer modern conveniences along with vintage charm. Views of the Monterey Bay from its second and third floor bedrooms. Exquisitely decorated with antique furniture and accessories, it’s like a trip to Pacific Grove’s past, from the old-fashioned front porch to the stained-glass windows. The home is on a quiet lane, that runs parallel to the town’s main street. Close to Caledonia Park and three blocks from Lovers Point, it also has a back patio that is partially fenced for privacy.
The home is within walking distance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and just a few blocks from the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail, a popular place for cycling and walking. Also close by are the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted with complimentary cheese and wine or sparkling cider, wine tasting passes and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, as well as spa robes, and beach gear with everything you need for a day at the beach, including chairs, blankets, towels, umbrella and cooler.
Guests enter the home via a short flight of stairs to the porch, where the front door opens into the cozy living room, with comfortable seating around an electric fireplace and hand-scraped hardwood floors. It’s a perfect spot to watch the 42-inch HDTV and enjoy conversation or a good book. Adjacent to the living room is an antique wooden dining room table with seating for 6.
Beyond the dining area is a fully-equipped kitchen with a vintage wooden telephone and a stained-glass window. Kitchen has a four-burner Jenn-Air gas stove, a deep double sink, custom tile floor and backsplash, and solid-surface countertops.
Around the corner is a stacked washer and dryer, next to a hallway bath featuring a vintage clawfoot bathtub with shower, an old-fashioned wooden toilet tank and marble-topped vanity.
A curved staircase leads to the second floor, where there are two bedrooms with queen beds with Sleep Number mattresses, each with authentic antique furnishings and light fixtures. One bedroom has an iron bedstead while the other has a beautifully carved wooden headboard as well as ocean views from the window. The bay can be seen even more clearly from the second-story deck with cast-iron patio seating. The bedrooms share a bath with an antique vanity with a hammered metal sink as well as a shower with an over-sized shower head, custom tile work and glass door. A vintage ceramic toilet tank completes the décor.
A stairway from the second floor leads up to a third-floor loft bedroom that’s ideal for children. It has a day bed with a Sleep Number mattress, as well as an additional single bed, and ocean views from a slanted window.
The back yard has artificial turf, BBQ grill and patio seating. Parking for a small car in the one-car garage and another small parking space in the driveway.
