La Terrazza sul Lago is a charming villa in Varenna on Lake Como, suspended between elegance and nature, recently renovated with careful design work that has enhanced its light, materials and continuous relationship with the landscape. The property enjoys a truly privileged position: despite being a few minutes from the center of Varenna, one of the most famous and visited villages on Lake Como, it is in a condition of absolute privacy, hidden from view and protected by the green of the garden that surrounds it. It is a secluded and quiet holiday home in Varenna, where village life remains close but never intrusive.
The house also has an authentic and fascinating history: it is in fact certain that in the past it belonged to a pianist who performed at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. This artistic origin still seems to be perceptible in the atmosphere of the rooms, in the quality of the light and in the sense of balance that accompanies each space, almost as if the music had remained suspended between the rooms.
The villa is spread over three levels and is designed to accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 double bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms, ensuring comfort and independence even for large groups. Upstairs there is an elegant entrance with a relaxation area and a desk, followed by two double bedrooms: one with a private balcony and en-suite bathroom, the other with an adjoining full bathroom. All rooms are equipped with wardrobes and bedside tables, while the bathrooms are modern and complete with shower, toilet, bidet and sink.
Going down to the central floor, the villa reveals its most scenic soul: the spaces open completely to the lake, with a visual continuity that transforms the landscape into an integral part of the house. Here you will find the private panoramic terrace with lake view, a suspended and private place where time seems to slow down, ideal for enjoying sunsets and evenings with friends in absolute peace. On the same level there is a fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine, accompanied by a large extendable table for up to 10 people. Also on this floor there are three other double bedrooms: one with en-suite bathroom and direct access to the garden, and two that share an additional bathroom in the corridor, all bright and overlooking the lake landscape.
On the lower level, the villa offers an additional, more intimate dimension, with a relaxation area, laundry room and an additional full bathroom, in addition to direct access to the private garden that surrounds the property, reinforcing the feeling of isolation and tranquility.
The villa has two entrances: the upper one, convenient for those arriving by car and close to the private garage (a parking space), and the lower one, which allows you to walk to the center of Varenna and the train station in about 10 minutes. The route is uphill and partially devoid of sidewalks, typical of the hilly area. For additional vehicles, paid public parking is available near the station.
Wi-Fi, air conditioning in all rooms and TV in every room and in common areas complete the property. La Terrazza sul Lago — villa with lake view in Varenna is a rare residence, where the beauty of Lake Como meets absolute privacy, offering an exclusive stay experience, surrounded by nature but a stone’s throw from one of the most lively and iconic centers of the lake.

With its idyllic location at the junction of the lake's three branches, Bellagio is renowned for its stunning landscapes, elegant architecture, and serene atmosphere, making it a favorite among travelers seeking both relaxation and beauty.
The town's cobbled streets and stairways are lined with colorful buildings, chic boutiques, and quaint cafes, inviting leisurely strolls and opportunities to soak in the local culture. The lakeside promenade offers breathtaking views of the water and surrounding mountains, and is the perfect spot for an evening passeggiata.
One of Bellagio's most famous attractions is the Villa Melzi, a neoclassical masterpiece set within exquisite gardens that bloom with azaleas and rhododendrons in the spring. The villa's museum and botanical gardens are open to the public, providing a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Lombard aristocracy.
Another must-visit is the grand Villa Serbelloni, which sits atop the hill overlooking the town. Now owned by the Rockefeller Foundation, the villa's park is open for guided tours, offering visitors the chance to explore its lush gardens and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Como.
For those interested in local craftsmanship, Bellagio is known for its fine silk products and artisan shops where you can find handcrafted leather goods and intricate woodwork. The town's small but charming historical center, with its Romanesque church and stone buildings, tells the story of Bellagio's ancient roots.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do in and around Bellagio. The lake itself is a playground for water sports, from sailing and windsurfing to kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The surrounding hills offer hiking and cycling paths with scenic vistas at every turn.
