SURROUNDING AREA
Majordoms Velo is located in Llambilles, a quiet rural village in the Gironès area of Catalonia, surrounded by pine forest and rolling countryside. The setting is peaceful and private, ideal for guests who want to disconnect from city life while staying well connected to the wider region.
Neighbourhood (Llambilles)
Llambilles is a small, tranquil village with a genuine rural character. The immediate surroundings are quiet — pine trees, open fields, and the sounds of nature rather than traffic. It is an excellent base for cyclists, walkers, and families who prefer a calm, countryside environment. The villa is not completely isolated — it sits within a suburban residential area — so guests are asked to be considerate of neighbours, particularly outside. Quiet hours (22:00–08:00) apply, especially in the outdoor areas.
Town (Girona)
The city of Girona is a short drive away and well worth a visit. Its medieval old town, cathedral, Arab baths, and vibrant food and café scene make it one of the most interesting cities in Catalonia. Girona is one of the most celebrated cycling cities in Europe — home to many professional cyclists and training grounds used by WorldTour teams. The surrounding roads offer a wide range of routes, from flat valley rides to challenging climbs into the pre-Pyrenees.
Province (Girona)
The Girona province offers outstanding variety for active travellers and families: cycling routes through the countryside and the Pyrenees foothills, hiking in the Garrotxa volcanic zone, medieval villages, and the Costa Brava coastline to the east. Girona city itself is easily reachable, and Barcelona is accessible by car or high-speed train.
CLIMATE
The Girona region has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters. July and August are the hottest months, with temperatures often between 28 and 35°C — ideal for the pool and outdoor activities. Spring and autumn are pleasant for cycling, hiking, and exploring the region, with temperatures typically between 14 and 22°C. The area occasionally experiences the Tramuntana, a strong north wind that creates excellent conditions for sailing and kitesurfing along the nearby Costa Brava coast around the Gulf of Roses. Winters are cool and calm, and the villa is a comfortable base for off-season stays.
COMFORT & SAFETY
Majordoms Velo is set up for a comfortable self-catering stay throughout the year. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, juicer, hand blender, Nespresso machine, and a full set of cookware and utensils — with at least 2 full sets of cutlery and crockery for all guests.
The villa has fast WiFi available throughout the property, with a smart thermostat for year-round comfort.
The outdoor pool is private and fenced. The pool zone includes 8 sun loungers and an outdoor shower — ideal for cooling down after a long ride.
Outdoor lighting is installed around the exterior of the property.
Safety features include smoke detectors and a first aid kit.
A bike pump is available on site, a dedicated storage room provides secure space for bikes and cycling gear, and a garden hose in the outdoor parking area is handy for washing bikes after a ride.
