Gaze out across evergreen treetops for as far as the eye can see at this architect-designed Oregon Coast retreat. Quiet and tranquil yet close to downtown Florence (six miles), this light-filled home makes a special escape for beach-goers, ATV enthusiasts, and winter storm watchers alike.
Beautifully secluded on 10 acres, this two-story home offers the perfect marriage of privacy and convenience. The driveway provides easy access and abundant parking for trailers and ATVs. You’ll avoid summer’s coastal fog, yet you’ll still be only a few minutes’ drive from South Jetty Beach (six miles) and Heceta Beach (10 miles). Even closer to the house are three different lakes (including lovely Cleawox Lake three miles west) and an access point to the famous Oregon Dunes at Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park (two miles).
Thanks to its thoughtful design and southern exposure, the house is full of sunlight and sweeping views. As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by walls of rear windows framing the forest below and the wraparound deck out back.
There’s a wonderful openness to the house, which you’ll feel whether you’re relaxing in the warmth of the woodstove, gathering around the dining room table, or cooking together in the chic kitchen (complete with stainless steel appliances). Escape to the den to stream a favorite movie, curl up in the reading room with a good book, or log onto the high-speed WiFi at the desk to catch up on a bit of work. Cap each evening with stories around the firepit, leave the day’s clothes in the side-by-side washer/dryer, and get a restful night’s sleep in two comfortable bedrooms.
