The room is perfectly designed for both relaxation and entertaining, featuring comfortable sofa seating, a smart TV and DVD player, and a cosy wood burner for cooler evenings. The dining area sits alongside a well-equipped kitchen complete with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A convenient separate WC completes the ground floor. Upstairs, you’ll find two delightful bedrooms: a spacious king-size room with lovely estuary views, and an attractive single bedroom with an additional pull-out single bed to accommodate an extra guest if required. To the rear of the property is a beautifully finished bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Outside, the French doors lead onto a charming riverside terrace overlooking the veranda and the picturesque Fowey estuary. With garden furniture provided, it’s the perfect spot for al fresco dining or simply soaking up the tranquil waterside atmosphere. Guests also benefit from access to a shared pontoon on the estuary. The veranda itself is designated solely for the use of Captains Cottage, although neighbouring guests may pass along the side to access their own properties. Private off-road parking for two cars is included. A private shared pontoon sits just in front of the house, inviting outdoor-led days spent fishing, crabbing, paddleboarding or kayaking, or even hiring your own boat for the week to cruise into Fowey and explore the beauty of the river at your own pace. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. The ancient port of Fowey is close by, while the coastal village of Polruan is just a short drive away, linked by a convenient passenger ferry. A little further afield, enjoy days out to Looe and Polperro to the east, or Mevagissey to the west. The charming town of Lostwithiel is well worth a visit, particularly for its boutique interior shops and antiques emporiums. Walkers can take advantage of direct access to a public footpath and the nearby South West Coast Path. Popular attractions including the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Charlestown, and numerous National Trust properties are all within easy reach, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
