Some beach houses make you feel close to the Gulf. Vacation Heaven puts you right on top of it. This three-story townhouse on North Padre Island sits directly overlooking Whitecap Beach and the Gulf of Mexico — and with a community beach pathway just steps from your door, the sand is never more than a short walk away.
Spread across four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, the home sleeps up to 12 and is built for groups that want space without sacrificing togetherness. The layout does a lot of the heavy lifting here. The main living floor — your second level — is where everyone tends to land: an open kitchen fully stocked with everything you need to cook, a dining table big enough for the whole crew, a bright and comfortable living room, and two decks where the Gulf views have a way of stretching out a conversation long past sunset. A half bath on this level keeps things practical when the action is flowing.
Up on the third floor, you’ll find the king master suite with its own balcony and private bath — a good argument for whoever claims it first — along with a queen bedroom and a bunk room (twin/double), both sharing a hall bath. Laundry is also up here, which any group that’s spent time at the beach will appreciate. On the ground level, a second master suite with a queen bed and private bath has its own entrance directly to the deck, the community pool, and the outdoor pavilion with a grill. It’s the kind of setup that makes coming and going feel effortless, especially after a full day in the sun.
North Padre Island is that rare stretch of the Texas Gulf Coast where the pace is genuinely easy. Whitecap Beach — named for the rolling whitecaps that break toward shore — is beloved by locals for its laid-back atmosphere and relatively uncrowded feel. When you’re ready to explore, Doc’s Seafood & Steaks and Snoopy’s Pier are both close by for fresh Gulf seafood, and Padre Island Burger Company and Island Joe’s Coffee & Gallery round out the casual dining scene nicely. Padre Island National Seashore — the most significant undeveloped barrier island in the world — is just down the road, offering more than 130,000 acres of dunes, grasslands, and pristine beaches, including opportunities to watch sea turtle hatchlings make their way to the Gulf. Bird Island Basin draws windsurfers and kiteboarders from around the world for its ideal wind conditions, while Padre Balli Park is a go-to for shore fishing and beach camping. For a bigger day out, the Texas State Aquarium and USS Lexington are just across the JFK Causeway on the Corpus Christi bayfront.
Vacation Heaven is the kind of place where someone inevitably says, "we should just do this every year." With views like these and the Gulf this close, it’s hard to argue.
