Hartford Cottage, West Anstey

Hartford Cottage is a private, luxury holiday cottage for two, forming part of the Deer’s Leap estate, a former sheep farm in West Anstey, Devon. It’s ideally suited to couples wanting a peaceful escape, as well as walkers and cyclists. The open-plan living area feels fresh and airy, with comfortable seating and a TV. The double bedroom at the far end of the property has a king-sized bed, and the bathroom includes a bath, separate shower, hand basin and toilet. The modern kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, slimline dishwasher, kettle and toaster. Wifi, heating and electricity are all included, along with bed linen and towels (please bring your own towels for the hot tub). A cot can be provided on request. Outside, guests have their own private and enclosed patio with a table and chairs for al fresco dining, plus a Jacuzzi for the sole use of Hartford Cottage guests, which can also be enjoyed through the winter months as it is covered. Guests can also make use of shared facilities on the estate, including an all-weather tennis court and a games room with a pool table, table tennis and darts, along with grounds featuring a lake and farm animals including ponies, chickens, sheep and cows. Free onsite parking is available. Dogs are welcome (maximum of two) for a supplement of GBP 15 per dog per stay; dogs should be kept off the furniture, on leads outside the property, and never left alone inside. The property is strictly non-smoking and is not suitable for children or for guests with restricted mobility. At Christmas, the cottage is decorated for the festive season, with the covered Jacuzzi available for use throughout winter. Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out by 10 am.
