Yellow Gate Cottage, Porlock

Yellow Gate Cottage is a nineteenth century terraced cottage set back from the main road in the heart of Porlock village, offering peaceful comfort for couples or families. It sleeps up to 4 guests across two upstairs bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds, served by a family bathroom with shower over bath, heated towel rail, toilet and hand basin. Please note the stairs are steep, as is traditional with this style of cottage, so it is not suitable for those with restricted mobility or wheelchair users. The ground floor has an open-plan living and dining area with a stunning bark-covered beam, comfortable seating, an electric "wood burner" and Smart TV with Netflix. The compact galley-style kitchen is fully equipped with an electric double oven and hob, washing machine, under-counter fridge with ice box, microwave, kettle and toaster, plus a good range of cookware, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Electric central heating runs throughout, and both electricity and heating costs are included in the price. Bed linen, duvets and towels are provided, along with a small welcome supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and basic store-cupboard items. Outside, an enclosed paved courtyard to the front of the property offers table and chairs for al fresco relaxing in a quiet setting. Two off-road allocated parking spaces are available a couple of minutes’ walk from the cottage. One well-behaved dog is welcome free of charge (maximum of one), though dogs should be kept downstairs and not left alone in the property. The cottage is suitable for children. Guests are welcomed over the Christmas period, when a few decorations and lights are provided, though a seven-night minimum stay applies at this time of year.
