Stone House Martelina is located in a small village ideal for a peaceful and relaxed vacation. It belongs to Natura 2000, network of nature protection areas in the territory of the European Union. We are located 2,500 m from the center of Starigrad Paklenica in the village where only a few houses can be found. While we were building this house we paid attention to use as much as possible natural material such as wood and stone… Our idea was to make an authentic house. It is a two-storey house. On the ground floor, there is a living area and bedrooms are on the upper floor. You can rent this house all year because it is equipped with fireplace and air-conditioning. In the winter time, we provide woods for the fireplace. In the yard, there is a barbecue, a large wooden table, and deck chairs.A little something extra for you is our very well maintained garden. Mostly we grow vegetables and if is ready to eat fill free to pick whatever you want and taste some naturally grown food. This area is most famous for the National Park Paklenica ideal for hiking and free climbing. You can also go on one of our kilometers long beaches and enjoy the sea view and amazing view of the mountain. Our main beach is equipped with sports facilities and a children playground . Near us, there are three other national parks you can visit: Plitvice lakes, Velebit and Krka waterfalls as also nearby towns Šibenik and Zada

About the area
Zaton, Croatia, is a picturesque coastal village that offers a serene escape into the heart of the Dalmatian coast. Nestled in a beautiful bay, Zaton is a hidden gem that provides a tranquil alternative to the nearby bustling tourist centers, making it an ideal destination for those seeking both relaxation and adventure.
One of the main attractions in Zaton is its stunning pebble beaches, where crystal-clear waters invite swimmers, snorkelers, and sunbathers to enjoy the Adriatic Sea's embrace. The calm bay is also perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding, offering a peaceful way to explore the scenic coastline and its secluded coves.
For history enthusiasts, Zaton is a treasure trove of cultural heritage. The village is just a stone's throw away from the historic city of Dubrovnik, allowing visitors to easily venture out and walk along the ancient city walls, wander through the limestone-paved streets, and discover the rich history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Back in Zaton, the charming promenade is lined with traditional Dalmatian stone houses, cozy restaurants, and cafes. Here, visitors can indulge in the local cuisine, savoring fresh seafood and regional specialties such as peka, a dish of meat or seafood cooked under a bell-like dome in an open fire.
The surrounding area is dotted with olive groves and vineyards, where travelers can partake in agritourism experiences. Wine tasting tours offer a glimpse into the region's winemaking traditions, and visitors can sample some of Croatia's finest wines while enjoying the picturesque countryside.
For those looking to connect with nature, the nearby hills provide ample hiking and biking trails that offer panoramic views of the bay and the lush Mediterranean landscape. The region's natural beauty continues to captivate outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for bird watching and discovering the diverse flora and fauna.
Zaton's proximity to the Elaphiti Islands is another draw for visitors. These idyllic islands are easily accessible by boat, and day trips can be arranged for those wishing to explore their sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and sleepy villages.
In essence, Zaton is a destination that offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and leisurely pursuits. Its laid-back atmosphere, coupled with the allure of the Adriatic Sea and the charm of Dalmatian life, makes Zaton a worthwhile place to visit for travelers looking to experience the quieter side of Croatia's enchanting coast.
