Madrona Ridge - MCA 389
Madrona Ridge is a gem of a home with a fabulous hillside location! Perched slightly above the quiet neighborhood, lending added privacy. This home has wraparound decks on three sides positioned for maximum southern exposure and featuring Adirondack outdoor seating, a hot tub, a firepit, and a gas grill. The home also has a washer/dryer, gas fireplace, and WiFi. There is no ocean view. It’s a three-block walk downhill to the Pacific Ocean and the white-sand beach. Or it’s just a one-minute drive for those unable to make the return walk back up to high ground. Madrona Ridge is uphill in the Highland Neighborhood of Manzanita, above the Tsunami Hazard Zone! It’s two blocks from Manzanita’s charming downtown with a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, natural foods, galleries, day spas, toy store, bookstore, pet store, assorted shopping options, and beach cruiser and surfboard rentals. Trek up to Neahkahnie Mountain for spectacular views. Hike through an old-growth forest to fabulous Short Sands Beach or the hidden treasure of Cape Falcon. Fourteen miles to the north, you will find Cannon Beach, with stunning ocean vistas, waysides, State Recreation Sites, and frequent whale sightings all along the way. Take a step back in time while enjoying your steam-powered excursion alongside the ocean and bays on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway.
Upon your arrival at Madrona Ridge, it’s just three steps up from the three-car parking area to the extended covered front porch/deck. In the entryway are coat hooks and shoe storage benches. The living room is light-filled and comfortable, with coastal colors and decor. There is a leather queen sofa bed, occasional chairs, and a cozy gas fireplace to gather near and keep you snug. A 32’ smart TV is hidden behind cabinet doors (there are no big screen TVs). The kitchen is well-equipped and bright with stainless steel appliances, classic white subway tile, and butcher block countertops. It has east and south-facing windows to capture the welcome morning light.
The outdoor living spaces are for your relaxation! The covered front deck is protected and has a bistro table and seating. Steps lead down to a perfect sandy firepit for s’mores or hot dogs. Or just enjoy the warmth and crackling of the campfire. The private south-facing deck warms up rapidly in the sun. Even in winter, this deck can be quite comfortable on sunny days. The outdoor dining deck has a gas grill with a side burner and a large outside umbrella table where friends and family can gather and linger. The hot tub deck has a sunken spa, so there are no steps to climb as you ease into the warm, calming water. The mood lighting in the hot tub is incredibly soothing after dark, while turbo jets provide whole-body hot water therapy.
Be sure to bring the family dogs. This is a dog-friendly home, and they will love their vacation to the beach at least as much as you will! For their safety and your peace of mind, there are gates and dog gates to help keep them on their best behavior and out of harm’s way. They will love Manzanita’s expansive beach, where they can run free! After a fun day out, return and relax around the campfire back at your home away from home, Madrona Ridge!
