The dark skies here are extraordinary. Bring a flashlight for evening walks and look up -- on clear nights, the stargazing is some of the best in Northern California. Whale watching season runs roughly from December through April. Gray whales migrate along this stretch of coast, and the blufftop trails offer some of the best viewing spots anywhere.
