Upon entering, patterned floors and a charming palette provide the utmost in cottage comfort. Two queen bedrooms are perfectly appointed, in addition to a generous bunk room that sleeps 4. The main bedroom and bathroom showcase a stand-alone clawfoot tub, ideal for the kids to bathe in after a day at the beach or for enjoying some private time with a glass of wine. Vaulted ceilings and rustic exposed beams lend a dramatic aspect to the main living area, while accents of rattan, rope, natural fiber, whitewash, and shiplap contribute to the home’s Lake Michigan vacation themes. Perhaps the greatest feature of the home is the wood-burning, free-standing fireplace in the front family room.
The Leo Cottage kitchen has been updated to include many modern amenities while still retaining a vintage lake house feel, with newly installed kitchen cabinets, appliances, lighting, and faucets. You’ll love preparing tonight’s vegetables in the generous farmhouse sink! The well-equipped kitchen includes an oversized center prep island with bar stools for entertaining, plus a breakfast area with booth seating. Serve in the gorgeous dining room or extend the options for gathering over meals to the outdoors with a large furnished patio and a well-appointed screened-in gazebo to keep the bugs away.
Guests will also have access to a private hot tub (a great place to unwind), a fire pit area, and an outdoor shower to rinse away the sand after a long day at the beach. The Leo Cottage comes with 2 adult bikes and 2 children’s bikes for guest use, along with beach chairs and a ping-pong table in the garage for some family entertainment.
