About the Neighborhood
Welcome to Monti, the hidden and authentic soul of Rome.
Strolling through the cobbled streets of Rione Monti feels like stepping into a parallel Rome, where ancient charm and modern spirit blend effortlessly and every corner tells a story.
Tucked between the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Via Nazionale, Monti is a treasure chest nestled in the city center, yet removed from the main tourist bustle. It preserves a unique character: intimate, vibrant, and unmistakably Roman.
Monti is bohemian and sophisticated, home to artisans, independent art galleries, rare bookshops, and vintage boutiques. By day, you’ll encounter craft markets, creative shops, and cozy cafés nestled under noble façades. By night, the neighborhood transforms into a lively urban lounge filled with osterias, wine bars, and enotecas where you can soak in a youthful, cosmopolitan vibe without losing that Roman flair.
Here, you can enjoy breakfast with a cappuccino and cornetto among students and filmmakers, savor homemade pasta at a historic trattoria for lunch, and end the evening with a glass of wine on a rooftop terrace, watching the rooftops of Rome glow gold at sunset.
Monti is lived-in and genuine, welcoming you as a local, not a tourist. Though it’s well connected to the rest of the city, once you enter its maze of narrow alleys, you may never want to leave—because here, amidst timeless quiet and postcard-perfect views, you can truly breathe the real essence of Rome.
