Charming and beautifully restored craftsman cottage on prestigious Bay Shore Rd, just minutes from Ringling, New College, Downtown Sarasota, St. Armand’s Circle and the Beaches at Lido Key and Siesta Key. Walk to nearby Sapphire Shores Beach Park to watch the sunset or take an outdoor yoga class, or choose to relax in the screened in porch under the shade of a giant Banyan Tree. The Cottage contains beautiful period details throughout, taking you back to another era while offering modern comfort
The cottage was built in 1939 and was recently completely restored, but retains the original charm with a working stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, crown molding throughout, original hardwood floors, craftsman tile work in the kitchen, and more. The setting feels like you’re set in a botanical garden, with tropical trees and landscaping providing privacy. Go ahead and help yourself to mangoes grown on the tree just outside the cottage.
The cottage works great as either a 2BD vacation home for a family, or use the second bedroom as a home office and work from a tropical paradise! Lightning fast wifi is offered throughout the property.
Location is excellent for accessing all of Sarasota’s world-class culture and natural beauty. Just minutes away from SRQ airport (but thankfully out of flight path so no noise!), USF Sarasota campus, New College of Florida, the Ringling Museum and School of Design, Historic Asolo Theater, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Downtown Sarasota with its multitude of dining destinations, designer boutiques at St. Armand’s Circle, and of course the sugary Gulf beaches at Lido Key and Siesta Key.
Sapphire Shores is one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Sarasota, and the cottage is surrounded by multi-million dollar homes. Sarasota Bay is literally across the street, and both Sapphire Shores Park & Indian Beach Park are just a short hop away. Neighbors gather at Sapphire Shores to watch the sunset or for morning yoga, and Indian Beach Park is a one-acre coastal park perfect for canoe and kayak launching off the small sandy beach.
